Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. (QPWB), a multi-office national defense firm and the largest minority owned law firm in the United States, is seeking a Junior Associate Attorney to join our Miami office, supporting our Insurance Defense practice. This is a full-time, in-office position offering a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
About the RoleThe Associate Attorney will support attorneys handling a variety of insurance defense matters while managing an active caseload and gaining hands-on litigation experience. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 1–2 years of insurance defense experience seeking to further develop their litigation skills within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate is motivated, organized, and eager to grow their practice while delivering exceptional client service.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Manage an assigned caseload of insurance defense matters under the guidance of senior attorneys
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, legal memoranda, and other litigation-related documents
- Conduct legal research and analyze legal issues
- Prepare and respond to written discovery
- Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and court appearances
- Assist with case strategy, evaluation, and trial preparation
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and team members
- Maintain compliance with court deadlines and client reporting requirements
- Collaborate with attorneys and staff to ensure efficient case management
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active member in good standing with the Florida Bar
- 1–2 years of insurance defense litigation experience required
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Experience drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced litigation environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software
