Job Description
Boyd Richards Parker & Colonnelli, P.L., a civil litigation firm with offices in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, West Palm Beach, and New York, seeks an experienced litigation associate for its Miami office, focused on community association and employment practices liability matters.
The ideal candidate has substantive experience litigating community association (homeowners' and condominium association) disputes and/or employment practices liability claims, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination matters. On the employment side, we value demonstrated interest in the practice and experience litigating in federal court.
Responsibilities:
Manage cases independently from inception through post-trial, including deadline and docket management
Attend court conferences, oral argument, depositions, and mediations
Prepare pleadings, written discovery, discovery responses, and motions
Advise and communicate directly with clients, carriers, and opposing counsel
Develop case strategy and prepare timely status reports
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor; admitted to the Florida Bar and in good standing (required)
Admission to the U.S. District Courts (Southern and/or Middle District of Florida) expected for employment practices candidates, preferred otherwise
3+ years litigating community association and/or employment practices liability matters
Familiarity with Florida Chapters 718 and 720 and/or Florida and federal employment statutes
Large firm or specialized boutique experience; prior trial experience preferred
Familiarity with Aderant Expert Sierra, iTimekeep, and NetDocuments a plus
Compensation & Benefits: Salary commensurate with experience; medical, dental, and vision insurance; retirement plan; professional development support. Approx. 2,000 billable hours expected annually.
