BRG’s Accounting & Technology teams help clients analyze complex financial, operational, accounting, technological, and business issues in connection with legal, regulatory, and investigative matters. The team supports corporations, boards of directors, legal counsel, insurers, and other clients by turning complicated records and data into clear, reliable insights.

About the Role

As an Associate, you will support teams working on complex financial and legal matters, including commercial disputes, healthcare disputes and investigations, business insurance claims, forensic investigations, cyber investigations, international arbitrations, advisory engagements in banking and healthcare, and business valuations. You will gain hands-on experience analyzing data and business records, developing financial models, preparing client deliverables, and supporting expert teams throughout the dispute, investigation, and regulatory compliance process. You will build your technical skills and contribute to work that shapes important legal and business outcomes. What You’ll Do

  • Analyze financial statements, accounting records, operational data, and other business information.

  • Support damages analyses, business interruption calculations, valuation work, claim preparation, and investigative findings.

  • Assist with reconstructing financial information, developing financial models, and identifying key trends or anomalies.

  • Help prepare expert reports, trial demonstratives, presentations, exhibits, and other client deliverables.

  • Support client interviews, fraud investigations, compliance reviews, discovery efforts, internal controls assessments, and risk mitigation work.

  • Collaborate with professionals across finance, accounting, economics, technology, data management, and legal disciplines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Statistics, Economics or other related subject, with an expected graduation date between Winter 2026 and Summer 2027.

  • 3.6 GPA or higher preferred.

  • Strong quantitative, research, problem-solving, and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, client-service environment.

  • Attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

  • Willingness to consider becoming a CPA.

  • Experience with statistical, data analysis, or programming tools such as Excel, Stata, R, Python, SQL or similar platforms is preferred.

  • Fluency with AI tools is preferred.

  • Candidates must be able to submit verification of their legal right to work in the United States, without company sponsorship now or in the future.

1. Business Insurance Claims (BIC): We provide immediate and strategic guidance to insurance policyholders following a catastrophe. Our BIC experts meticulously analyze financial data and operational records, develop robust financial models, and prepare comprehensive, well-documented insurance claims, accelerating resolution and maximizing claim payments.

2. Construction: We specialize in data analytics, litigation support, claims/dispute analysis, scheduling/logistics management and expert witness testimony within the construction, engineering, and architectural fields. Our team supports clients through budget and payment advisory, loss assessment and valuation, estimations and takeoffs, and insurance and damages claim valuations.

3. Commercial Disputes: We combine exceptional analytical and accounting skills and industry-specific knowledge to provide comprehensive support throughout the legal process. From initial case assessment and in-depth damages analysis to litigation support and expert testimony in hearings, trials, arbitration, regulatory proceedings, and mediation, we deliver data-driven insights to inform legal strategy and financial impact.

4. Cybersecurity & Investigations: We help clients proactively prepare for and effectively respond to cyber threats. Our Cybersecurity experts provide data security strategy, incident response support, thorough investigations, and post-crisis guidance.

5. Healthcare Analytics and Disputes: We tackle complex legal and operational challenges in the healthcare industry using data-driven, objective, and innovative approaches. Our experts lead litigation, advisory and risk management matters, combining deep healthcare industry expertise with cutting edge research, data analytics, economic and financial modeling. In addition to complex government investigations into issues of fraud and bribery in the healthcare industry, our teams work on healthcare regulatory pricing and reimbursement issues, disputes arising from healthcare M&A and joint business ventures, healthcare competition matters, FDA and medical product liability matters, healthcare commercial disputes and damages, healthcare business valuations, healthcare economics and outcomes research, and compliance issues for life sciences companies, healthcare providers, and health insurance companies.

6. Financial Institutions Advisory: We are a trusted advisor to leading financial services companies. We work to help clients meet and execute strategies related to risk and regulation, compliance, financial crime, innovations in technology, accounting, cryptocurrency and blockchain, business process outsourcing, the Bank Secrecy Act, anti-money laundering, lookbacks, data quality, and evolving customer experience expectations.

7. Forensic Technology, Investigations & Discovery: Our experts partner closely with corporate legal and information technology departments to streamline the entire discovery process. They specialize in leveraging technology, people, and processes to optimize legal hold issuance, data collection, processing, document review and production. We leverage eDiscovery, data analysis and evidence gathering, vetted investigative techniques, and hypothesis testing to assist clients to conduct independent investigations of alleged accounting and financial reporting fraud, misappropriation of assets, and bribery.

8. International Arbitration: We specialize in providing expert analysis and testimony in complex international disputes. Our team supports clients by providing valuation expertise and presenting evidence – both oral and written – before arbitration panels. We frequently advise on high-profile cases involving disputes between investors and governments concerning investor expectations, regulatory regime changes, indirect expropriation, sovereign insurance claims, and damages

Locations

Associates will primarily be hired in locations like Washington DC, New York, Boston, Houston, Chicago, and the San Francisco Bay Area. Associates are expected to work a minimum of 3 days per week from an office, though we highly encourage new Associates to work from the office as often as possible.
