Job Description
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Field Project Manager to oversee the successful field execution of utility-scale solar and energy infrastructure projects. This role serves as the primary on-site leader responsible for coordinating construction activities, managing subcontractors, ensuring safety and quality compliance, maintaining project schedules, and delivering projects on time and within budget.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on construction professional with extensive experience managing large-scale EPC projects and leading multidisciplinary field teams in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all on-site construction activities from mobilization through project completion.
- Lead field operations while ensuring compliance with project schedules, budgets, quality standards, and contractual requirements.
- Coordinate daily activities of subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and internal project teams.
- Conduct daily planning meetings and maintain effective communication with engineering, procurement, and corporate management.
- Monitor project progress and proactively identify schedule risks or construction challenges.
- Ensure adherence to OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and environmental requirements.
- Review project drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and construction documents to ensure proper execution.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve field issues and implement design changes.
- Manage field documentation including daily reports, progress updates, manpower reports, and production tracking.
- Oversee quality control inspections and ensure work complies with project specifications and applicable codes.
- Support project forecasting by monitoring labor productivity, equipment utilization, and material availability.
- Coordinate commissioning activities and support project turnover to the owner.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, inspectors, utilities, and project stakeholders.
- Mentor and develop field engineers, superintendents, and site personnel.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent field experience considered.
- Minimum of 7 years of construction project management experience with at least 5 years managing utility-scale solar, renewable energy, or heavy civil EPC projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects valued at $20M+.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, budgeting, and cost controls.
- Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors across large construction sites.
- Working knowledge of contract administration and change order management.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software such as Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively to project sites nationwide.
