Position Description
Position Summary:
NRE seeks an experienced, results-driven Project Material Expeditor to join our team at New River Electrical Company.
The Project Material Expeditor is responsible for supporting project execution through effective material planning, procurement coordination, logistics management, and supplier engagement. This role works closely with Procurement, Project Management and Suppliers to ensure materials are available, compliant, and delivered in accordance with project schedules and contractual requirements.

Duties/Responsibilities
- Review project material requirements and schedules with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to determine order quantities, assess lead times, and support project planning.
- Assist Program and Project Teams with the creation, processing, and tracking of material purchase requisitions and procurement activities.
- Manage and maintain visibility of material receipts, work-in-progress (WIP), repairs, returns, inventory status, and inbound shipments.
- Coordinate material staging, storage, and laydown yard activities to ensure efficient project support and material availability.
- Support and coordinate material inspections and contract deliverable reviews with field personnel, project management, and quality representatives.
- Collaborate with Management, Engineering, Quality, and Project Teams to ensure project deliverables are achieved in accordance with baseline schedules and customer requirements.
- Facilitate project and departmental meetings, providing material status updates, action item tracking, and schedule support.
- Partner with Senior Buyers to develop and execute sourcing strategies, supplier communications, and procurement plans.
- Coordinate inbound logistics activities and shipment processing to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment in accordance with project and contract milestones.
- Support internal and external audits by maintaining accurate records, documentation, and compliance with established procedures.
- Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements that enhance departmental efficiency, material management, procurement processes, and overall project execution.
Position Requirements
Qualification/Experience
- Experience (3-5 years) in procurement, materials management, supply chain, logistics, project coordination, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
- Working knowledge of inventory control, procurement processes, supplier management, and logistics coordination.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze material requirements, monitor schedules, and proactively resolve supply chain and logistical challenges.
