Job Description

Armand Corporation, an award-winning M/WBE Construction Management firm celebrating over 35 years in the industry, is seeking a full-time proactive and detail-oriented Human Resources Coordinator to support recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, and performance management activities in the New York City office. This role requires an individual who can work independently, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and effectively support a fast-paced workforce comprised of both internal and contingent staff.

This position will report to our Midtown office. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5 pm. Armand Corporation has adopted a hybrid work system. Therefore, the current workweek schedule is a minimum of three days of work at the office and two days remote.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, demonstrates sound judgment, communicates professionally, and takes ownership of responsibilities with minimal supervision.

Essential Responsibilities

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
  • Partner with management to execute recruiting strategies for internal and contingent staffing positions.
  • Manage job postings through the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Source candidates through job boards, professional networks, industry associations, referrals, and other recruiting channels.
  • Screen resumes and evaluate candidates against position requirements.
  • Conduct phone, virtual, and in-person interviews.
  • Coordinate interviews with hiring managers and client representatives (Internal construction management and contingent workforce).
  • Maintain candidate pipelines and ensure timely follow-up throughout the recruiting process.
  • Prepare candidate summaries and recommendations for management review.
Onboarding & Employee Administration
  • Coordinate new hire onboarding activities and documentation.
  • Ensure completion and accuracy of all onboarding paperwork.
  • Maintain employee records and HRIS data.
  • Track required certifications, licenses, and training records.
Compliance & Recordkeeping
  • Maintain personnel files in accordance with company policy and applicable employment laws.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
  • Monitor personnel file completeness and identify missing documentation.
  • Assist with audits and compliance reviews as needed.
Performance Management
  • Monitor performance review schedules and submission deadlines.
  • Follow up with managers regarding outstanding evaluations.
  • Maintain performance management documentation and records.
Employee Relations & Communication
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries.
  • Assist in resolving employee concerns and workplace issues.
  • Draft professional communications to employees and leadership.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and company programs.

Qualifications

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of Human Resources and/or Recruiting experience.
  • Experience conducting interviews and evaluating candidates.
  • Experience working with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and HRIS platforms (Paychex Flex).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred
  • Experience supporting contingent staffing, professional services, engineering, construction management, or project management organizations.
  • Experience with JazzHR, Paychex, or similar systems.
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or related HR certification.
