Job Description

People Analytics Workday Senior Consultant

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a People Analytics Workday Senior Consultant based in Canada.

This is a fully remote, full-time opportunity focused on turning complex workforce data into trusted, actionable insights.
You will combine advanced Workday Reporting expertise with strong SQL and enterprise data skills to solve meaningful business challenges.
The role partners closely with HR, Legal, Compliance, Employee Relations, and business stakeholders on both strategic and sensitive data needs.
You will go beyond simply fulfilling reporting requests by identifying root causes and recommending scalable, sustainable solutions.
The position offers the opportunity to improve reporting through automation, AI-enabled efficiencies, self-service analytics, and stronger data governance.
You will work across Workday and broader enterprise data ecosystems, considering impacts across people, processes, and technology.
Success in this role requires technical depth, analytical thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to influence stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Accountabilities:
  • Consult with stakeholders to understand underlying business needs and recommend effective reporting or analytics solutions.
  • Design, develop, maintain, and improve scalable Workday Reporting solutions and people analytics products.
  • Write, maintain, and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, reconcile, and analyze HR and workforce data from Dremio and other enterprise platforms.
  • Combine data from multiple systems to support reporting, investigations, workforce insights, and business decision-making.
  • Troubleshoot reporting issues, investigate discrepancies, and ensure the accuracy, quality, and consistency of analytical outputs.
  • Partner with HR, Legal, Compliance, Employee Relations, Audit, and other stakeholders on sensitive reporting and data requests.
  • Apply systems thinking and root-cause analysis to challenge assumptions and identify the real business problem behind a request.
  • Document reporting methodologies, SQL logic, data definitions, and processes to promote transparency, consistency, and repeatability.
  • Collaborate with dashboarding, infrastructure, product, and data engineering teams to deliver integrated people data solutions.
  • Ensure reporting practices comply with privacy, governance, security, and audit requirements, exercising sound judgment when handling sensitive employee information.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, AI-enabled efficiencies, self-service reporting, and process improvement.
  • Promote scalable, sustainable solutions rather than manual or one-time fixes and contribute to continuous improvement of reporting standards and governance.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of demonstrated experience developing and supporting Workday Reporting solutions, including advanced reporting capabilities.
  • Strong SQL skills and practical experience with enterprise data platforms such as Fabric, Dremio, and Scality.
  • Experience working with HR, People, or workforce data and an understanding of relevant HR processes.
  • Strong systems thinking, analytical reasoning, business problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Proven ability to gather business requirements and translate complex needs into scalable reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Experience with Workday Security concepts and HR data governance principles.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, consultation, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience supporting sensitive reporting requests involving areas such as Legal, Compliance, Audit, or Employee Relations is a plus.
  • Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence and dashboarding tools is preferred.
  • Consulting, analytics, HR technology, or other data-focused professional experience is an advantage.
  • High attention to detail, sound judgment, and a commitment to data accuracy, privacy, governance, and responsible use of employee information.
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while collaborating effectively across functions.
Benefits:
  • Fully remote work opportunity within Canada.
  • Full-time position.
  • Expected annual compensation of CAD $77,200–$124,075, with the final offer varying according to skills and experience.
  • Opportunity to work with enterprise-scale people data and modern HR technology.
  • Exposure to cross-functional initiatives spanning HR, Legal, Compliance, Employee Relations, Data, and Technology.
  • Opportunity to contribute to automation, AI-enabled efficiencies, self-service analytics, and data governance initiatives.
  • Collaborative environment focused on innovation, meaningful impact, and continuous improvement.
