Job Description

Position Description: St. Joseph Village is looking for a Security Officer at the community in Coppell, TX. Our mission is to come together and make each moment matter for those we serve. As a Security Officer, professional who watches over surveillance cameras, guards the inside and outside of buildings, and ensures people and valuables on the property are safe and out of harm's way.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Models a service attitude towards others, takes ownership in solving problems and takes the initiative to make things better, is friendly and courteous to residents, patients, and co-workers.
• Ensure resident/patient, visitor, and co-worker safety by remaining aware of and reporting any new or existing safety hazards.
• Maintain good attendance record.
• Patrol grounds to ensure no one is on the property without permission.
• Stays in contact with receptionist and other personnel to ensure safety of property.
• Reacts to 911 calls to meet ambulance or fire department at the front gate and escort them to the appropriate building.
• Assists residents who need special care to navigate the property.
• Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or equivalent; At least 2 years previous Security/Law Enforcement experience and supervisory experience required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; At least 2 years previous Security/Law Enforcement experience and supervisory experience required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Good working knowledge of security operations, safety practices in a business environment and enforcement procedures
Guard card required by hire.
Ability to provide a valid drivers license
Ability to response quickly in unknown circumstance and remain calm.
Ability to effectively resolve problems.
Ability to pass an FBI background check investigation to facilitate licensing by Texas Department of Public Safety, Private Security Bureau.

• Genuine caring for and interest in the care of seniors, including those with cognitive deficits.
• Ability to read, write and effectively communicate in English
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with staff, residents, and the public.
• Good analytical skills and independent judgment
• Professional manner and appearance
• Ability to perform Essential Duties
• Genuine caring for and interest in the care of mature adults, persons with disabilities and hospice patients
• Ability to perform work tasks within the Physical Demand Requirements
• Ability to comply with the Resident Bill of Rights and the Employee Responsibilities
• Ability to comply with organizational and departmental safety policies and procedures.

WORK CLIMATE:
• Primarily inside climate-controlled building

WORK PACE:
• Self-paced, requiring the ability to work quickly and accurately in an often-times fast-paced work area
