Job Summary:

The Housekeeper position is important to the health and wellbeing of our patients. The Housekeeper performs cleaning tasks for the clinic in a safe and effective manner; ensuring infection prevention and in compliance with OSHA, Joint Commission, HIPAA, and all other regulatory agency standards. The Housekeeper is supervised by the Facilities Specialist and the Facilities Manager.

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for all cleaning tasks within the clinic with particular focus on assigned areas of the clinic.
• Communicates as a team to ensure cleanliness throughout the day and night shifts.
• Responsible for cleaning the floors in all rooms, offices, hallways, and bathrooms in the entire clinic building.
• Mops hard surface floors with disinfectant solution and vacuums carpeted areas of the clinic on a daily basis.
• Cleans and disinfects all sinks and fixtures throughout clinic and bathrooms.
• Disinfects and sanitizes all bathrooms, exam rooms, lab, classrooms and employee break rooms.
• Spot cleans windows, walls and woodwork on a regular schedule.
• Empties, cleans and relines trash receptacles.
• Dusts and cleans light fixtures and furniture.
• Buffs and waxes floors as assigned.
• Operates all cleaning equipment in a safe manner and follows all required safety precautions and procedures.
• Assists with set up of events at each clinical site (i.e. moving tables, chairs, cleaning before and after events)
• Responsible for wearing safety personal protective equipment that is appropriate for the task being performed.
• Reports any safety hazards found within the clinic throughout the course of the work day.
• Responds promptly to Housekeeping pages throughout the clinic during the assigned work shift.
• Responsible for storage of supplies and equipment in area assigned.
• Reports any damage or undue wear within the clinic areas and furnishings.
• Reports need for additional supplies to supervisor on a timely basis for reorder.
• Responsible for the security of the building when working alone in the building.
• May be assigned to other locations and work schedules based on clinic need and to provide proper coverage.
• Communicates and demonstrates the mission, vision and goals of the Center.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Good verbal and communication skills.
• Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and OSHA standards.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds.
• High school diploma or GED, preferred.
• Previous related experience, preferred.
• Must be bilingual (read, write and understand English / Spanish)
