PanCare of Florida is seeking a skilled and compassionate Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join our Pediatrics team in Panama City. In this role, you will provide high-quality pediatric primary care services to infants, children, adolescents, and their families in a supportive, patient-centered environment.
This position is located in Panama City at PanCare Pediatrics.
Your responsibilities include the following:
- Practice within the scope of practice as defined by Florida law, national certification standards, and organizational clinical protocols.
- Conduct age-appropriate developmental, behavioral, and psychosocial assessments.
- Monitor growth and developmental milestones and provide anticipatory guidance to patients and caregivers.
- Administer and manage immunizations in accordance with CDC, state, and organizational guidelines.
- Provide patient and caregiver education related to disease prevention, treatment plans, chronic condition management, and health promotion.
- Recognize and respond appropriately to pediatric emergencies and urgent medical conditions.
- Comply with mandatory reporting requirements related to suspected child abuse, neglect, or endangerment.
- Provide care through in-person and telehealth platforms in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct comprehensive health assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and development of differential diagnoses.
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures to assess patient conditions.
- Develop, implement, and manage personalized care plans for patients, including preventive care, treatment, and follow-up.
- Prescribe medications, therapies, and lifestyle modifications, ensuring proper documentation and patient education on their use.
- Diagnose and manage acute, chronic, and episodic pediatric illnesses and conditions, including asthma, respiratory illnesses, infections, ADHD, and other common childhood conditions.
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, comprehensive care.
- Maintain up-to-date and comprehensive records for all patients in accordance with legal, regulatory, and organizational standards.
- Ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior healthcare staff, such as nurses or medical students.
- Lead or contribute to quality improvement initiatives, patient care protocols, and educational programs within the practice.
- Adhere to established clinical protocols, safety procedures, regulatory requirements, infection prevention standards, workplace safety protocols, and universal precautions.
- Complete clinical documentation, order entry, and encounter closure within organizational timeframes and quality standards.
- Contribute to audits, compliance checks, and internal reviews to ensure the highest quality of care and patient safety standards.
- Coordinate patient follow up care, referrals, interdisciplinary communication, and related documentation to support continuity of care.
- Meet organizational standards related to productivity, quality outcomes, and patient access while maintaining high standards of patient care.
- Maintain all required licensure, certifications, and continuing education requirements in accordance with state and national standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited program
- 2 years of clinical experience as a PNP/APRN
- Completion of an accredited APRN program with a focus on pediatrics, family practice, or primary care.
- Current, active state licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).
- National certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) from a recognized certifying body (e.g., PNCB, AANP, or ANCC)
- Current DEA registration or ability to obtain prior to hire required.
- Certification of Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 4 years of clinical experience as a PNP/APRN
- 2 years of pediatric, family practice, or primary care experience
- Experience in electronic health record (eCW) systems, with proficiency in documentation and patient management software.
- Experience diagnosing and managing acute, chronic, and episodic pediatric conditions in a pediatric or primary care setting preferred.
