What is a Plant HR Generalist?Based onsite at the Interplastic plant in Pryor, OK, the Plant Human Resources Generalist is the primary HR resource for assigned manufacturing and distribution operations. This role partners with plant leaders and employees to build a positive workplace culture and apply company policies, employment laws, and effective HR practices. As a trusted advisor, the generalist supports employee relations, hiring and onboarding, benefits and leave, performance management, engagement, training, and payroll administration.

What You Can Expect to Do as a Plant HR Generalist:
- Advise plant leaders and employees on HR policies and employee relations; investigate complaints, policy violations, and workplace conflicts, and support coaching, counseling, corrective action, and performance improvement plans.Partner with hiring managers on screening, interviews, selection, workforce planning, staffing, and local recruitment outreach; coordinate welcoming onboarding, new hire orientation, and employment paperwork.Support benefits questions, open enrollment, and benefits education with corporate HR; administer FMLA, ADA accommodations, military leave, workers' compensation, and other applicable programs, maintaining accurate leave records.Coordinate performance reviews and leader guidance, talent development, succession planning, development programs, training, and compliance learning to support continuous employee development.Partner with supervisors and payroll to support accurate, timely timekeeping and payroll processing; support HR audits and compliance reporting while protecting confidential information.Implement and communicate HR policies, monitor changes in federal, state, and local employment laws and HR practices, and apply working knowledge of local collective bargaining agreements and union-company matters as applicable.Partner with EHS and plant leadership on workplace safety, workers' compensation, incident response, and root cause follow-up; help leaders manage complex employee situations and reduce risk.Promote accountability, respect, inclusion, and company values through recognition, engagement initiatives, change communications, conflict resolution, employee meetings, and town halls; lead HR projects, training, or cross-functional teams as needed without typical direct reports.
What We Are Looking For in a Plant HR Generalist:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience, required.Experience in employee relations and benefits administration required.Experience in recruiting and HR compliance required.Experience in a manufacturing, distribution, warehouse, or industrial environment required.PHR, SHRM-CP, or another HR certification preferred.Experience with HR information systems and applicant tracking systems preferred.Experience supporting multiple facilities or employee groups preferred.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Work onsite in manufacturing and office settings, with frequent employee interactions and regular movement through production and warehouse areas.Sit, stand, or walk for extended periods, and use computers and standard office equipment for extended periods.Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds and respond to employee issues outside normal working hours when needed.
