Jorgensen Conveyor and Filtration Solutions, an Innovance Company, is seeking a skilled, motivated, and dedicated individual for our Brake Press Operator position. Under the direction of the Laser/Form Supervisor, the Press Brake Operator works from drawings and a Bill of Materials to produce the highest quality conveyor casings and parts at the lowest possible cost, while meeting departmental performance standards, and customer specifications and delivery requirements, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Produce head and tail shafts according to Bill of Materials and drawings.
- Operate boring equipment to prepare stock materials for use in shaft assembly.
- Transfer completed shafts to appropriate storage shelves, ensuring accurate identification.
- Wire motors with premade cables.
- Make cleats for belt assemblies.
- Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documentation, etc.
- Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
- Assist in training new employees in the safe and most efficient use of production methods.
MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Transport incoming materials to appropriate storage shelves.
- Work on special projects as needed.
PROTECTIVE CLOTHING/EQUIPMENT REQUIRED
Requires the use of safety glasses and shoes, grinding shield, hearing protection, and gloves.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Requires four years of high school and one year of related experience; or a combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints and Bills of Materials, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively one-on-one with other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide to perform calculations relating to setting up and performing assembly operations. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
The employee must possess good mechanical ability and the ability to perform basic calculations to perform assembly work. The employee must have the ability to operate a variety of hand tools, boring equipment and precision measuring devices.
