About the Role:

The 2nd Shift, Monday through Thursday 2:00pm-12:00am, Press Brake Operator plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by accurately bending and shaping metal components according to precise specifications. This position ensures that production goals are met during the second shift, maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The operator will interpret blueprints, set up the press brake machine, and monitor its operation to produce parts that meet exact tolerances. Attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot machine issues promptly are essential to minimize downtime and maintain workflow efficiency. Ultimately, this role contributes directly to the successful fabrication of metal products that meet customer and company standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience operating press brake machinery or similar metal fabrication equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
  • Basic math skills to measure and calculate bend angles and dimensions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in press brake operation or metal fabrication.
  • Experience with CNC press brake machines and programming.
  • Familiarity with quality control processes and inspection tools.
  • Ability to perform minor machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment on a second shift.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate press brake machinery to bend and form metal parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Inspect finished products for accuracy, quality, and adherence to safety standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and resolve any operational issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of production output, machine settings, and any adjustments made during the shift.

Skills:

The required skills enable the operator to accurately interpret technical drawings and set up the press brake machine to produce parts that meet exact specifications. Attention to detail is crucial for inspecting finished products and ensuring quality standards are met consistently.
