The Senior Software Engineer will serve as a technical expert responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable monetization solutions. This role combines hands-on engineering, technical leadership, and ownership of critical systems that support high-volume digital experiences.
- Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality production code using JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Act as a subject matter expert on Prebid.js, Prebid Server, and the broader header bidding ecosystem.
- Own the architecture, evolution, and release processes of header bidding solutions, making key technical decisions.
- Maintain and improve client-side scripts running across thousands of publisher websites while ensuring reliability and scalability.
- Optimize application performance by monitoring Core Web Vitals, memory usage, execution time, and network efficiency.
- Evaluate emerging standards, technology updates, and ecosystem changes to recommend platform improvements.
- Work extensively with advertising technologies, including Google Ad Manager, GPT, IMA SDK, and programmatic auction systems.
- Collaborate with engineering teams through code reviews, technical discussions, and shared best practices.
- Troubleshoot production issues, improve system stability, and ensure deployed solutions continue delivering strong performance.
- Contribute technical documentation and communicate complex concepts clearly across teams.
The ideal candidate is an experienced software engineer with strong JavaScript expertise and a deep understanding of digital advertising technologies. They should be comfortable solving complex technical challenges, working independently, and contributing within a distributed engineering environment.
- 4+ years of professional experience developing applications with JavaScript, including significant TypeScript experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Prebid.js, including wrapper configuration, bid adapters, modules, identity solutions, consent, floors, and analytics.
- Deep understanding of programmatic advertising workflows and the complete auction lifecycle.
- Experience with Prebid Server, including stored requests, server-side adapter configuration, and server-to-server routing.
- Strong knowledge of Google Ad Manager, including GPT, line item architecture, key-value targeting, unified pricing rules, and dynamic allocation.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform services such as GKE, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, and BigQuery for high-throughput applications.
- Broad understanding of ad technology concepts, including OpenRTB, SSP/DSP integrations, identity frameworks, consent frameworks, Amazon TAM/APS, and video advertising technologies.
- Strong understanding of asynchronous programming and client-server architecture.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in a remote and distributed environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to document technical solutions and collaborate with engineering teams.
- Ability to take ownership, make independent decisions, and contribute creative technical ideas.
- Experience contributing to Prebid.js or Prebid Server open-source projects is a plus.
