Position Summary
Altair Data Resources is seeking a Vice President of Data Solutions & Operations to lead the teams responsible for delivering data products, analytics, database solutions, custom data processing, and fulfillment operations.
This role will report directly to the CTO and will manage two critical areas of the business: Data Solutions and Operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical understanding, operational discipline, and the ability to connect strategy with execution.
This person will be responsible for ensuring that Altair’s internal data products, analytics initiatives, client data projects, and fulfillment processes are delivered accurately, efficiently, and at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Department Management
- Lead and manage the Data Solutions and Operations teams, ensuring clear priorities, accountability, and consistent execution.
- Provide direct oversight of:
- The analytics function, including two Data Scientists
- The Director of Data Solutions, who oversees internal data solutions products and database-related projects
- The Data Fulfillment Leader, who oversees fulfillment operations
- The broader fulfillment team, including five Data Analysts responsible for custom/manual data processing and data fulfillment order
- Partner closely with the CTO to align departmental priorities with Altair’s broader technology, product, and business strategy.
- Create structure, visibility, and accountability across teams that support both product development and client delivery.
Data Solutions & Analytics
- Oversee analytics projects, internal data solutions products, and database initiatives.
- Support the development, improvement, and scalability of Altair’s internal data products and platforms.
- Ensure that data science and analytics work is properly prioritized, documented, and connected to business value.
- Work with the Director of Data Solutions to improve processes around product development, database projects, data quality, and internal tools.
- Help translate business needs into clear technical and analytical requirements.
Operations & Fulfillment
- Oversee Altair’s data fulfillment operations, including custom and manual data processing workflows.
- Work with the Data Fulfillment Leader to ensure client orders are completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Improve operational processes, documentation, quality control, and team capacity planning.
- Identify opportunities to automate, standardize, or improve recurring fulfillment workflows.
- Establish metrics and reporting around turnaround time, order volume, quality, rework, team workload, and delivery performance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with technology, sales, client success, compliance, and executive leadership to ensure data projects and client deliverables are aligned with company priorities.
- Serve as a bridge between technical teams, operational teams, and business stakeholders.
- Help prioritize competing demands across internal product work, client projects, analytics requests, and fulfillment needs.
- Communicate clearly with leadership regarding project status, risks, resource needs, and performance metrics.
Process Improvement & Scalability
- Develop and improve operating rhythms for the Data Solutions and Operations departments.
- Implement better systems for project intake, prioritization, tracking, documentation, and delivery.
- Identify bottlenecks and create scalable processes to support company growth.
- Promote a culture of accuracy, accountability, continuous improvement, and strong client service.
Qualifications
Required
- Experience leading data, analytics, operations, fulfillment, or technical delivery teams
- Strong understanding of data processing, database projects, analytics workflows, and operational delivery
- Proven ability to manage multiple teams and competing priorities
- Strong project management and process improvement skills
- Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Comfort operating in a fast-paced, data-driven business environment
- Experience creating structure, accountability, and repeatable processes across teams
Preferred
- Experience in data services, marketing data, financial services, mortgage, credit, or regulated data environments
- Experience managing data analysts, data scientists, or technical operations teams
- Familiarity with data fulfillment, custom data processing, database products, analytics platforms, or data quality processes
- Experience supporting productized data solutions or internal data platforms
- Familiarity with compliance-sensitive data workflows, including consumer data, credit data, or financial services data
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a strong operator with enough technical understanding to lead data-focused teams effectively. They do not necessarily need to be the deepest technical expert in the room, but they must be able to ask the right questions, understand priorities, remove obstacles, and drive consistent execution.
This person should be comfortable managing both strategic data initiatives and day-to-day operational delivery. They should bring discipline, urgency, and structure while also understanding that Altair’s business requires flexibility, accuracy, and strong client service.
Success in This Role Looks Like
