OVERVIEW:

  • Nourishing Young Bodies - Sponsoring nearly 150+ Child Care centers through the Child Care Food Program and providing access to nutritious food to nearly 17,000 children in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Polk, Pasco and Manatee Counties.

JOB SUMMARY:

The PT Bookkeeping Clerk of Cornerstone Family Ministries maintains the financial Accounts Payable records, ensuring transactions are posted correctly and bills are paid on time, as well as the payroll, benefits, contracts, AP, AR files, ensuring legal requirements compliance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Ensures that all accounts payable are opened, dated, and entered accurately into QuickBooks to produce timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Prepares and disburses checks and online payments for agency expenses
  • Prepares the online disbursement and disburses checks for the monthly claim payout payment to Child Care Food Program Centers sponsored by Cornerstone Family Ministries
  • Works with department heads to collect time sheets and to process and distribute payroll with Payroll Company once every two weeks, including the tabulation of accrued employee benefits
  • Create payroll journal entries and ensure all payroll fees are recorded correctly in QuickBooks
  • Create and maintain employee files, ensuring all benefit paperwork is completed and any updates are filed in a timely manner
  • Maintain all payroll, vendor and warranty related files.
  • Order office supplies as necessary
  • Regular pick-up and drop-off of mail and accounts payable
  • Assist in the counting and reconciling of Wonder Walk funds
  • Works with Director of Children’s Services to produce tuition statements and weekly balance sheets
  • Serve as an ambassador of Cornerstone’s mission, vision and guiding values in word, behavior and professional practice.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities for direct reports.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma required. One plus years of related experience in accounting; or combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

None required.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • A Christ follower with a passion for delivering ministry with excellence
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Basic bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable or other billing experience
  • Bookkeeping experience using QuickBooks
  • Database and computer skills
  • Accurate and timely handling of information
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Must be able to detect and utilize information presented verbally, on computer screens and/or printed documents. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move their computer equipment (up to 10 pounds).

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
