About This Position

Description:

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Senior Technical Accountant will be responsible for evaluating complex accounting issues such as revenue recognition, lease assessments, calculation of physician compensation, acquisitions, and debt modifications. This role will require streamlining critical accounting processes and assisting with centralization efforts across numerous markets. Orthopedic Care Partners is looking for someone who can analyze large datasets, has strong problem-solving skills, is detail-oriented, can work independently, and has the desire to develop process improvements. This role will also be involved with monitoring new accounting literature and analyzing the impact on the Company, as well as assisting with updates to the Company’s accounting policies. This position will assist in the preparation and/or review of monthly and annual financial statements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

· Preparation of monthly revenue recognition analysis and physician compensation models, including bad debt calculations

· Ability to partner with the Director of Technical Accounting, VP of Data Management, and VP of Revenue Cycle to streamline revenue datasets

· Preparation of monthly physician compensation calculations, including identification of process improvement opportunities across multiple markets

· Review of month-end journal entries prepared by staff & senior accountants.

· Review contracts and agreements for potential accounting implications, such as revenue recognition under ASC 606 and leases under ASC 842

· Ability to independently collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve problems

· Maintain and review internal controls documentation and robust reconciliations to support process accuracy and audit readiness.

· Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including system upgrades, standardization of best practices and process automation.

· Ability to review financial statements for consistency, accuracy, and perform robust variance analyses

· Assist with the preparation of audited financial statements, including footnote disclosures

· Collaborate with external auditors and assist in the preparation/review of supporting schedules

· Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS/LICENSE:

· CPA license is required

EDUCATION:

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, including technical accounting
  • 3+ years of Big 4, or large national public accounting experience strongly preferred

SKILLS:

· Strong understanding of general ledger systems

· Strong understanding of how to prepare GAAP basis financials

· Detail oriented, proactive and service oriented

· Advanced skills in all Microsoft Office products, especially Excel, and large data sets

· Ability to act and operate independently to accomplish objectives

  • Travel may be required for existing or new OCP locations.
