About the Role
Matter Health is seeking a VP of Care Operations to lead and scale operational infrastructure supporting our integrated care model across Tennessee markets.
This executive leadership role partners closely with clinical, operational, and executive teams to improve care coordination, patient support operations, workflow consistency, and operational performance across the organization. We are looking for a strategic and hands-on healthcare operations leader who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments and is passionate about improving healthcare access for underserved communities.
Although this role is remote/hybrid, candidates based in Tennessee or nearby regions are strongly preferred. Occasional travel throughout Tennessee markets and in-person leadership collaboration is expected.
Dyad Operating Model
This role operates in close dyad partnership with the VP, Clinical Affairs to support Matter Health’s integrated care delivery model. Clinical protocols, care standards, and clinical workflows are owned by the clinical leadership hierarchy. The VP of Care Operations owns operational execution, workflow optimization, scheduling operations, centralized Care Operations services, and technology adoption across the organization. Both leaders share accountability for patient experience, care coordination effectiveness, and successful operational execution of the model of care.
What You'll Do
• Lead and scale centralized care operations across multiple Tennessee markets
• Oversee care coordination workflows, patient support operations, scheduling, and referral management
• Drive operational consistency, workflow optimization, and process improvement initiatives
• Partner closely with clinical leadership to support high-quality, patient-centered care delivery
• Improve operational performance metrics related to patient access and care coordination
• Collaborate cross-functionally with executive leadership, field operations, HR, recruiting, and clinical teams
• Support technology adoption and operational workflow optimization across healthcare systems
• Build scalable operational infrastructure to support organizational growth
• Foster a mission-driven, accountable, and high-performing operational culture
Qualifications
• 8+ years of progressive healthcare operations experience with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role overseeing contact center, care coordination, or multi-site operational functions.
• Experience leading healthcare operations, care coordination, or multi-site operational teams
• Strong operational leadership, workflow optimization, and process improvement experience
• Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-growth healthcare environments
• Passion for improving healthcare access and serving underserved communities
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
Strongly Preferred
• Experience in value-based care, population health, primary care, or community-based healthcare
• Experience supporting operations across multiple markets or regions
• Familiarity with healthcare operational systems and workflow management
• Startup or scaling healthcare organization experience
