We are seeking a dynamic, relationship‑driven Sales & Catering Manager who brings polished communication, exceptional presentation skills, and a proactive, strategic approach to building business. You will play a pivotal role in driving group sales, cultivating partnerships, and delivering seamless, memorable events that reflect the signature River Rock experience.
Whether you’re developing new business, designing tailored event solutions, or collaborating with our culinary and banquet teams, you’ll be at the heart of creating experiences that inspire guests and strengthen River Rock’s reputation as a premier destination for meetings, celebrations, and corporate gatherings.
Key Responsibilities
- Solicit, negotiate, and book new and repeat group business through prospecting, referrals, tradeshows, on‑site inspections, and targeted outreach to maximize resort revenue.
- Plan, up‑sell, and detail meetings and functions, including space requirements, schedules, equipment, menus, and billing instructions.
- Conduct polished, engaging site tours showcasing River Rock’s hotel, event spaces, and amenities.
- Manage and resolve guest concerns promptly, professionally, and with a service‑first mindset.
- Partner closely with Food & Beverage and Kitchen teams to develop menus, pricing, and customized event offerings.
- Work closely with Banquets to ensure seamless execution of all events.
- Build strong relationships with Tourism BC, Vancouver and Richmond Tourism, airlines, travel agencies, and key associations.
- Maintain accurate records of guests, orders, payments, and expenses.
- Stay current on market trends, competitor offerings, and evolving guest needs.
- Liaise effectively with all operational departments to support flawless event delivery.
- Cultivate strong working relationships with guests, ownership, and employees.
- Ensure adherence to licensing laws, health and safety standards, and all regulatory requirements.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Sales & Catering experience in a hospitality environment.
- Opera/Fidelio and Squirrel experience considered an asset.
- Hospitality Education or a suitable combination of education and experience.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations.
- Computer literacy in MS Office.
- Ability to clear a criminal record check
Work Environment Considerations
This position is primarily scheduled Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with flexibility to support and oversee events during non‑traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to ensure exceptional guest experiences.

Compensation for this position is aligned with experience, with a salary range of $55,000–$65,000, and eligibility for a performance‑based bonus structure that rewards strong operational results, leadership impact, and contributions to culinary excellence.
