Job Description
Ryan Company is growing our team and looking for a Business Development Manager to work with our clients across all sectors of business. This role is based in Greater Vancouver and reports to the Director of Business Development. Travel is expected in this role as you will be working with key clients and engaging new business across BC.
In this role you will:
- Be the primary point of contact for key clients; build and maintain positive long-term relationships with clients and other stakeholders
- Work with the business development department to onboard and integrate new clients; work with operations team to ensure smooth new site activations
- Work with clients to solve business or technical challenges they face
- Constantly identify opportunities to grow the customer base and build positive relationships with new clients
- Develop sales plans based on customer needs; keep customers updated on latest trends and products to increase sales
- Facilitate special event requests from clients and produce proposals of products that meet event requirements
- Encourage high sales and good customer service practices
- Ensure both company and client adhere to contract terms
- Collaborate with internal teams to address client needs – this may include coaching to ensure quality service is being delivered by team members according to client expectations
- Administrative work as it relates to key accounts – this includes verifying billing, invoicing and client specific reports
- Quality control and document audits from a client perspective
- Keep abreast of competitor movements and maintain company's competitive edge
- Help promote and maintain a positive company image
Key competencies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build and maintain relationships
- Must understand customer relationship management (CRM)
- Strategic thinker and ability to analyze and solve problems
- Computer and number literate
- Must be a team player with the ability to work well with others
- Ability to work autonomously with limited supervision
- Must be self-motivated, flexible and able to manage several jobs at one time

Requirements:
- Proven experience in a sales position - minimum of 5 years
- Business degree
- Travel throughout BC is expected in this role
