This role offers the opportunity to support and modernize a large-scale Oracle enterprise environment within a mission-driven technology setting.
You will be responsible for managing complex Oracle database, middleware, cloud, and analytics platforms while improving reliability, security, and performance.
The position combines hands-on engineering with cloud migration, automation, and infrastructure optimization initiatives.
You will work closely with technical leaders and stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable solutions across hybrid environments.
The role requires deep Oracle expertise, strong problem-solving abilities, and the ability to operate in a highly regulated environment.

The Senior Oracle Infrastructure and Cloud Engineer will own the administration, modernization, migration, and operational support of enterprise Oracle environments. This role requires a strong technical foundation across databases, middleware, cloud platforms, automation, and security while collaborating with technical teams and stakeholders to ensure reliable service delivery.
- Provide daily technical support for Oracle enterprise platforms, including database, middleware, analytics, and cloud infrastructure environments.
- Administer and maintain Oracle Database, Real Application Clusters, Grid Infrastructure, Oracle Database Appliance, Oracle Linux, Oracle Enterprise Manager, and Oracle Automatic Storage Management.
- Manage Oracle Fusion Middleware technologies, including WebLogic Server, Oracle HTTP Server, Oracle Access Manager, Oracle Internet Directory, Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition, and BI Publisher.
- Perform upgrades, security patches, critical updates, hotfix deployments, and configuration changes across Oracle platforms.
- Optimize database, middleware, application, storage, and reporting performance through tuning and proactive improvements.
- Support cloud migration initiatives, including moving workloads to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and modernizing analytics environments.
- Provision, configure, monitor, and maintain Oracle Autonomous Database environments across serverless and dedicated deployments.
- Implement migration strategies using Oracle technologies such as Zero Downtime Migration, Data Pump, and GoldenGate.
- Maintain secure connectivity between on-premises systems and cloud-based services.
- Support identity and access management integrations, including authentication, authorization, and enterprise security controls.
- Implement security hardening practices, vulnerability remediation, and CIS Benchmark compliance across Oracle environments.
- Develop automation scripts using SQL, Python, Shell, Bash, WLST, Perl, or similar technologies to streamline operational processes.
- Build and maintain automated ETL workflows, data refresh processes, monitoring solutions, and operational tooling.
- Configure observability, alerting, reporting, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
- Identify technical risks, dependencies, performance issues, and security concerns while providing recommendations to leadership.
- Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, architecture diagrams, procedures, runbooks, and knowledge-transfer materials.
- Participate in technical planning, operational reviews, transition activities, and maintenance activities while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate brings extensive experience managing enterprise Oracle environments, cloud infrastructure, automation, and security-focused technology solutions. This role requires strong technical expertise, independent execution skills, and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly with technical and business stakeholders.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Active Oracle Certified Professional certification required.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience administering enterprise Oracle infrastructure, databases, and middleware environments.
- Hands-on experience supporting Oracle Database and Real Application Clusters in complex production environments.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle Grid Infrastructure, Automatic Storage Management, Oracle Database Appliance, and Oracle Linux.
- Experience managing Oracle WebLogic Server, Oracle HTTP Server, Oracle Access Manager, Oracle Internet Directory, Oracle Enterprise Manager, and related middleware technologies.
- Experience supporting Oracle Cloud Infrastructure migrations and hybrid environments.
- Experience administering Oracle Autonomous Database and Oracle Analytics Cloud.
- Experience modernizing Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition and BI Publisher environments.
- Strong background in Oracle patching, upgrades, performance tuning, monitoring, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery.
- Experience with identity management, authentication technologies, identity federation, and enterprise access controls.
- Experience analyzing security vulnerabilities and implementing remediation strategies.
- Proficiency in automation development using SQL, Python, Shell, Bash, WLST, Perl, or PHP.
- Experience creating and maintaining automated ETL and data-refresh processes.
- Ability to independently manage complex technical assignments while following established priorities and technical direction.
- Strong documentation skills with the ability to create clear technical guides and operational procedures.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with engineering teams, project leadership, and government stakeholders.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required public trust security clearance requirements.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Oracle Certified Master certification.
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect certification.
- Experience with Oracle Zero Downtime Migration, GoldenGate, and Data Pump.
- Experience implementing CIS Benchmarks across Oracle platforms.
- Experience supporting Microsoft SQL Server in Oracle-focused enterprise environments.
- Experience working with government systems, regulated environments, or high-security technology platforms.
