The Software Engineer III will be responsible for designing, developing, supporting, and enhancing PeopleSoft Financials applications. This role requires strong technical expertise, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and ownership of solutions that improve financial system performance, reliability, and usability.
- Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain PeopleSoft FSCM customizations, enhancements, and integrations.
- Support and improve PeopleSoft Financial modules, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, General Ledger, Purchasing, Asset Management, Project Costing, Inventory, and eProcurement.
- Develop and maintain solutions using PeopleCode, Application Engine, SQR, BI Publisher, Integration Broker, Component Interfaces, SQL, and Fluid pages.
- Analyze business requirements and convert them into effective technical solutions following PeopleSoft development standards.
- Troubleshoot production issues, resolve application defects, and improve system performance and reliability.
- Build and maintain integrations between PeopleSoft and third-party applications using REST, SOAP, XML, JSON, file transfers, and Integration Broker.
- Collaborate with functional analysts, database administrators, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to deliver system improvements.
- Participate in application testing, regression testing, deployment activities, upgrades, and maintenance initiatives.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, system specifications, coding standards, and operational procedures.
- Evaluate opportunities for automation, process improvements, and performance optimization.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and knowledge sharing to other developers.
- Support scheduled maintenance activities and participate in on-call responsibilities when required.
The ideal candidate is an experienced PeopleSoft developer with strong knowledge of enterprise financial applications, database technologies, and software development practices. They should be comfortable working independently, solving complex technical challenges, and collaborating with diverse teams.
- Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of professional experience developing and supporting PeopleSoft FSCM applications, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong understanding of PeopleSoft architecture, application design, and development methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with PeopleTools, including Application Designer, PeopleCode, Application Engine, SQR, Integration Broker, Query, BI Publisher, and Component Interfaces.
- Strong SQL development skills with experience writing complex queries and troubleshooting database issues.
- Knowledge of relational databases, preferably Microsoft SQL and Oracle environments.
- Experience developing and supporting integrations using REST APIs, SOAP web services, XML, and JSON.
- Understanding of PeopleSoft security concepts, including roles, permission lists, and row-level security.
- Familiarity with Change Assistant, PUM Images, Lifecycle Management, and PeopleSoft upgrade processes.
- Understanding of SDLC practices, source control, and change management processes.
- Experience with performance tuning, debugging, and enterprise application troubleshooting.
- Ability to analyze complex technical and business problems and develop practical solutions.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional and collaborative approach.
- Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and enterprise software platforms.
- Preferred experience with:
- PeopleTools development, SQR coding, and PeopleSoft Fluid applications.
- Elastic Search, Kibana, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and version control systems such as Git.
- Scheduling tools such as Control-M and scripting languages such as Perl.
- Enterprise financial systems within higher education, government, or public-sector environments.
- Leading technical projects or mentoring junior developers.
- Competitive annual salary range of $99,873 – $164,534, depending on experience and qualifications.
