Launching in the Fall of 2026, Recess Hotel & Club will transform Savannah’s storied Manger Building into a new kind of lifestyle hotel and clubhouse. With 221 rooms—including suites and bunk rooms—plus co-working, a rooftop pool, a circuit-based wellness club, a French brasserie, and layered social spaces, Recess is designed as a “public club”: a private clubhouse for all. Locals, members, and travelers will come together to eat, drink, work, play, and connect.

About the role
Kilter Rooftop at Recess Hotel & Club is seeking skilled, energetic, and hospitality-driven Bartenders to join our team. Designed exclusively for hotel guests and club members, Kilter offers elevated dining, craft cocktails, and memorable experiences in a lively rooftop setting. Our bartenders play a key role in creating exceptional experiences through thoughtful service, expertly crafted beverages, and genuine guest connections.
The ideal candidate is passionate about cocktails, wine, and hospitality, with the ability to balance efficiency and precision in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a warm, engaging presence. This role requires a strong commitment to service excellence and a desire to contribute to the vibrant atmosphere that defines Kilter.
What you'll do
- Prepare and serve cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and service standards
- Provide attentive, personalized service to guests seated at the bar and throughout the rooftop venue as needed
- Develop a thorough knowledge of Kilter's beverage program, food offerings, seasonal features, and member experiences
- Guide guests through beverage selections and make recommendations based on their preferences
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar throughout service
- Accurately enter orders and process transactions using the point-of-sale system
- Monitor guest alcohol consumption and ensure responsible alcohol service practices
- Prepare garnishes, syrups, mixers, and other bar ingredients according to established standards
- Perform opening, closing, and side work duties as assigned
- Collaborate with servers, food runners, culinary team members, and leadership to ensure seamless service
- Manage inventory levels and communicate product needs to leadership
- Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations
- Build relationships with hotel guests and club members while contributing to a welcoming and engaging atmosphere
- Support rooftop events, activations, and member programming as needed
Qualifications
- Previous bartending experience required; upscale restaurant, cocktail bar, hotel, or club experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, and beverage service standards
- Passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Experience with point-of-sale systems and cash handling procedures
- Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift and move bar supplies as needed
- Ability to work comfortably in an outdoor environment and varying weather conditions
- Professional presentation and grooming standards
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as business needs require
