About the role
Le Flâneur, the signature French brasserie at Recess Hotel & Club, is seeking energetic, dependable, and team-oriented Barbacks to join our team. Inspired by the timeless charm of a French brasserie, Le Flâneur offers a vibrant dining experience rooted in genuine hospitality, exceptional food and beverage, and meaningful guest connections.
As a Barback, you will play a critical role in supporting the bar team and ensuring smooth, efficient service throughout each shift. The ideal candidate is organized, hardworking, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This position is perfect for someone who is passionate about hospitality and interested in growing their knowledge of beverage operations and bartending.
What you'll do
- Support bartenders by maintaining a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar throughout service
- Restock beer, wine, liquor, mixers, garnishes, glassware, and other bar supplies as needed
- Prepare garnishes, juices, syrups, and other ingredients according to established standards
- Assist with beverage inventory management
- Collect, wash, polish, and restock glassware and bar equipment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of bar stations, storage areas, coolers, and service areas
- Remove trash, recycling, and empty boxes throughout the shift
- Assist with receiving and storing beverage deliveries
- Support opening, closing, and side work responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with bartenders, servers, culinary team members, and leadership
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards
- Anticipate the needs of the bar team and proactively assist during service
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant, bar, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred
- Strong work ethic and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and maintain urgency during busy service periods
- Ability to lift and carry cases and bar supplies safely
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the shift
- Professional presentation and grooming standards
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require
- Passion for hospitality and creating exceptional guest experiences
