Merchandising Support Coordinator

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Merchandising Support Coordinator based in Canada.

This remote role supports a merchandising category management team with the day-to-day coordination and administration of product information and merchandising activities.
You’ll help ensure new items are accurately set up, categorized, and maintained across internal systems.
The position combines analytical support, troubleshooting, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced retail environment.
You’ll work closely with category managers and other stakeholders to resolve item-related issues and keep merchandising processes running smoothly.
The role also offers opportunities to contribute to special projects, share expertise, and help improve team processes.
As you gain experience, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your systems knowledge and take on increasing responsibility.
The position is remote within Alberta, with a preference for candidates located in Calgary.

Accountabilities:
  • Provide day-to-day analytical and operational support to the merchandising and category management team, including processing new items, cost-related support, and promotional setups.
  • Assist category managers and support teams in troubleshooting item issues, identifying root causes, and coordinating appropriate resolutions.
  • Review documentation and ensure new products are accurately established and maintained within internal systems.
  • Maintain store and departmental item categories, including product assortment information, to support accurate merchandising operations.
  • Maintain an understanding of applicable government rules, regulations, and requirements relevant to merchandising activities.
  • Prepare departmental reports and contribute to special projects and other assignments as required.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings, providing relevant guidance, information, and process expertise.
  • Support knowledge sharing by training new team members on relevant systems, procedures, and processes.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of relevant professional experience, preferably in merchandising, retail operations, administration, business support, or a related environment.
  • Associate degree, two-year post-secondary qualification, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel, with the ability to work confidently with business data and documentation.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple requests according to business needs.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, with a practical approach to identifying issues and determining appropriate solutions.
  • Positive, professional, and adaptable mindset, with the ability to respond effectively to changing priorities and business requirements.
  • Strong teamwork and leadership capabilities, including the confidence to share knowledge and support the development of new team members.
