Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Software Engineer based in United States.
As a Sr. Software Engineer, you will help build the cloud-native integration platforms that connect critical enterprise systems and enable complex global operations.
You will work on high-performance backend services, APIs, event-driven architectures, and distributed systems using modern .NET technologies.
The role offers an opportunity to join a newly formed engineering team and help establish its systems, architecture, and engineering practices from the ground up.
You will collaborate with technical leaders, engineers, and business stakeholders to design reliable, scalable, and observable solutions.
Beyond hands-on development, you will contribute to technical direction, architecture decisions, design reviews, and engineering standards.
You will also mentor fellow engineers and participate in hiring and team development as the organization grows.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex integration challenges while expanding their technical leadership impact.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain high-performance backend services and enterprise integrations using F# and the .NET ecosystem.
- Build service-based APIs, event-driven services, and distributed systems designed for reliability, scalability, traceability, and maintainability.
- Develop high-throughput data processing and integration pipelines connecting ERP, transportation, warehouse management, financial, and operational platforms.
- Contribute to the architecture and design of scalable, cloud-native integration platforms and shared engineering capabilities.
- Design and implement robust RESTful APIs and message-driven services using appropriate architectural patterns.
- Lead technical design reviews for team initiatives, evaluate technical trade-offs, and guide system and architecture decisions.
- Deploy and operate cloud-native services in AWS using Infrastructure-as-Code practices, including Terraform.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and GitHub Actions, incorporating automated testing and reliable deployment practices.
- Apply observability, resiliency, fault tolerance, concurrency, and performance optimization principles to production systems.
- Analyze system behavior and proactively identify opportunities to improve performance, scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Mentor engineers on software design, coding practices, architecture, and modern engineering approaches.
- Collaborate with other Software Integrations teams to establish and evolve shared engineering standards and architectural patterns.
- Participate in technical interviews and provide informed hiring recommendations.
- Partner with technical leads and engineering leadership to support onboarding, development, and growth of engineering talent.
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience designing, developing, and delivering production software systems.
- Deep expertise in the .NET ecosystem, including strong proficiency in C# or F#.
- Willingness to develop or deepen F# and functional programming expertise, as F# is central to the technology environment.
- Proven experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and service-oriented or microservices architectures.
- Strong experience with message-based and event-driven architectures, using technologies such as Kafka, NServiceBus, or comparable messaging and event-streaming platforms.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems concepts, including consistency, resiliency, fault tolerance, concurrency, scalability, and reliability.
- Experience developing cloud-native applications using modern practices such as CI/CD, automated testing, containerization, and observability.
- Experience working with relational databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or equivalent technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and improve system performance and scalability.
- Experience with F# or another functional-first language, or practical application of functional programming patterns in C#, is preferred.
- Experience designing integrations between complex enterprise systems such as ERP, TMS, WMS, financial, or operational platforms is advantageous.
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code technologies such as Terraform or Pulumi is preferred.
- Experience mentoring software engineers or leading small technical teams is a plus.
- Experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or related business domains is beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong communication, collaboration, technical judgment, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment while collaborating with distributed engineering and business teams.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including extended computer use, keyboard and mouse operation, close visual work, and regular communication.
