Job Description

Senior Software Engineer, Web

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Web based in United States.

This is a front-end-first full-stack engineering role focused on building the next generation of member-facing web experiences.
You’ll design and deliver accessible, high-performance, reliable applications that help people better understand and navigate their healthcare.
The role combines deep frontend engineering with opportunities to contribute to APIs, backend services, data flows, and integrations.
You’ll own meaningful projects end to end, from defining problems and technical approaches through delivery, measurement, and iteration.
Working closely with Product, Design, Data, Clinical, and Engineering teams, you’ll turn complex healthcare workflows into intuitive digital experiences.
You’ll also influence frontend architecture, developer experience, engineering standards, and AI-assisted development practices.
This is an ideal opportunity for a senior engineer seeking strong technical ownership and a path toward broader Staff-level impact.

Accountabilities
  • Build and continuously improve high-quality, member-facing web applications using modern frontend technologies, prioritizing usability, accessibility, performance, reliability, and measurable user impact.
  • Own projects through the full development lifecycle, including problem definition, technical design, collaboration with Product and Design, iterative delivery, and evaluation of outcomes.
  • Contribute across the full stack by working with frontend applications, APIs, backend services, data flows, and integrations with external or partner systems.
  • Help shape frontend architecture, including application patterns, state management, reusable components, testing approaches, observability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Make pragmatic technical decisions that balance delivery speed, engineering quality, long-term maintainability, and customer impact.
  • Partner cross-functionally to translate complex healthcare processes and workflows into simple, intuitive digital experiences.
  • Improve developer productivity through better tooling, documentation, testing practices, development workflows, and engineering standards.
  • Help introduce effective AI-assisted and agentic coding practices while maintaining high standards for security, code quality, reliability, and engineering judgment.
  • Participate in technical planning, design reviews, code reviews, incident follow-ups, and initiatives focused on improving application reliability and latency.
  • Mentor fellow engineers and contribute to a culture built around ownership, collaboration, direct feedback, continuous learning, and technical excellence.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building, deploying, and operating production web applications.
  • Deep hands-on frontend expertise with JavaScript or TypeScript and a modern web framework such as React.
  • Strong knowledge of frontend architecture, including state management, component design, browser behavior, performance optimization, accessibility, and testing.
  • Demonstrated experience creating responsive, accessible, reliable web experiences that address real customer or member needs.
  • Full-stack development experience with the ability to contribute effectively to APIs, backend services, data flows, and system integrations.
  • Proven ability to make sound technical decisions in ambiguous environments and take projects from initial concept through production.
  • Strong product judgment and experience partnering closely with Product and Design teams to deliver meaningful outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts, decisions, and tradeoffs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A pragmatic, collaborative, and execution-focused mindset, with the confidence to take ownership, ask thoughtful questions, incorporate feedback, and deliver important work.
  • An interest in modern AI-assisted engineering practices and the ability to apply emerging development tools thoughtfully and responsibly.
Benefits
  • Remote-first work culture.
  • Competitive geographic-zone-based base salary:
    • Zone A: $149,450–$211,100, plus equity and benefits.
    • Zone B: $164,395–$232,210, plus equity and benefits.
    • Zone C: $179,340–$253,320, plus equity and benefits.
    • Zone D: $194,285–$274,430, plus equity and benefits.
  • 401(k) savings plan through Fidelity.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage with multiple medical plan options.
  • Disability insurance.
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) and Discretionary Time Off (DTO).
  • 12 weeks of 100% paid parental leave.
  • Family-building support, including fertility coverage and up to $25,000 for surrogacy or adoption.
  • Compassionate and paid leave for qualifying failed fertility treatments, adoptions, or pregnancies.
  • Work-from-home reimbursement to support an effective home-office environment.
  • Compensation designed around geographic market conditions and factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, and internal equity.
  • Opportunities for technical growth, mentorship, broader ownership, and progression toward Staff-level scope.
