This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Network Engineer Senior/Principal based in United States.
This is a fully remote opportunity for an experienced network security professional supporting large-scale enterprise environments.
You will design, deploy, migrate, and operate modern network security services across cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
The role offers hands-on exposure to next-generation firewalls, SASE/SSE, network visibility, and micro-segmentation technologies.
You will play a key part in complex service transitions, phased migrations, infrastructure build-outs, and ongoing operations.
Success requires strong technical judgment, disciplined execution, and the ability to collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams.
You will also contribute to automation, documentation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvements across a sophisticated security ecosystem.
This role is well suited to a self-directed engineer who enjoys solving complex challenges while supporting mission-critical environments.
- Design, deploy, configure, maintain, and enhance cloud and on-premises network security solutions, including Palo Alto NGFW, Panorama/Strata Cloud Manager, Prisma Access, GlobalProtect, Juniper SRX, F5, and supporting technologies.
- Maintain the security, integrity, and operational health of enterprise network security infrastructure and management platforms.
- Execute service takeovers and phased migrations, including firewall and tunnel policy re-baselining, remote-access policy changes, security visibility deployments, feed validation, and policy optimization.
- Support network visibility and micro-segmentation capabilities using technologies such as Gigamon, ExtraHop, Illumio, and AlgoSec.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including network diagrams, user guides, standard operating procedures, and operational runbooks.
- Develop and support automation for configuration, validation, reporting, and other network engineering activities.
- Monitor existing and newly deployed environments, identify improvement opportunities, and contribute to phased enterprise rollouts.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, internal stakeholders, and customer organizations to implement network security solutions and support infrastructure build-outs.
- Troubleshoot escalated issues, assess technical challenges, and provide recommendations and solutions that maintain service continuity.
- Contribute to technology evaluations and continuously strengthen expertise across enterprise network security platforms and emerging technologies.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less-experienced engineers and professionals when appropriate.
- Coordinate hardware, software, and subcontractor requirements necessary to support network security deployments.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of experience with next-generation firewalls and enterprise network security technologies for Senior-level candidates, or 8+ years for Principal-level candidates.
- Strong technical knowledge of enterprise networking, including routing, switching, firewalls, and network security architecture.
- Hands-on expertise with Palo Alto Networks technologies, including NGFW, Panorama/Strata Cloud Manager, Prisma Access, and GlobalProtect.
- Experience with Juniper SRX and F5 technologies, with exposure to Illumio, Gigamon, ExtraHop, and/or AlgoSec highly valuable.
- Experience working with SASE/SSE platforms, network visibility solutions, micro-segmentation technologies, or comparable enterprise security architectures.
- Ability to operate effectively in large, multi-tenant enterprise environments involving engineering, migration, and managed security operations.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with the flexibility to manage complex transition and operational challenges.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver technical presentations and briefings to audiences with varying levels of technical expertise.
- Strong documentation discipline and the ability to create clear, accurate, and maintainable technical materials.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across large, distributed teams and customer organizations.
- Self-motivated approach, strong sense of ownership, adaptability, and willingness to continuously learn new technologies.
- Must be able to pass a background check to obtain a Public Trust designation.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Remote work is available, with travel expected to be less than 10% of the time.
- Competitive compensation: Expected salary range of approximately $96,569–$130,651, with final compensation based on experience, geographic location, and applicable contractual requirements.
