Job Summary
Provides leadership and direction for areas of responsibility. Works collaboratively with senior leadership for strategic planning. Job Responsibilities
- Develops department goals and objectives consistent with medical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements of the health care delivery system.
- Directs and/or assists in prompt resolution of issues and complaints.
- Identifies and resolves issues affecting the delivery of patient care services in assigned areas of responsibility.
- Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of health services.
- Monitors and adheres to annual hospital operating budget. Approves and/or monitors expenditures, purchases, and other actions to ensure compliance with budget guidelines.
- Ensures a high level of patient care is maintained in assigned areas of responsibility through coordination and management of personnel and resources.
- Uses sound business and clinical management strategies to maintain and improve quality; ensures appropriate access; meets established financial goals; develops, implements, and communicates a service line plan, which is aligned with and supports corporate goals.
- Performs job duties in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.
- Works autonomously within a stressful environment.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing required upon hire OR
- Master's degree or higher in nursing related field required upon hire
- A minimum of 5 years' relevant experience required
- RN - Licensed as a Registered Nurse. Eligible to practice nursing in the State of Kentucky required upon hire
- Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
- Works under minimal supervision.
- Department specific competencies for positions are detailed in the unit/department scope of practice.
