This role is responsible for leading and delivering large-scale, multi-year programs that drive enterprise-wide business outcomes. You will oversee complex initiatives from pilot through full deployment, ensuring alignment across scope, schedule, budget, risk, and quality. Acting as a key strategic leader, you will coordinate multiple interconnected projects while managing dependencies and ensuring smooth execution across teams. The position requires strong governance, financial oversight, and stakeholder management to ensure successful program delivery in a fast-paced, evolving environment. You will also play a central role in guiding decision-making, resolving high-impact issues, and ensuring alignment between business priorities and execution strategy. In addition, you will mentor other project managers and contribute to strengthening organizational delivery capabilities at scale.
- Own and lead one highly complex program or multiple medium-complexity programs, ensuring delivery of approved business outcomes across the full lifecycle.
- Define program scope, governance structure, assumptions, risks, dependencies, and overall delivery approach.
- Develop and maintain detailed program schedules in collaboration with stakeholders across multiple projects and functions.
- Establish and manage financial planning, including capital and operational expenditures, forecasting, budgeting, and cost control.
- Oversee procurement activities, third-party onboarding, and ongoing budget governance to ensure financial efficiency and accountability.
- Lead business case development in partnership with senior stakeholders and finance teams, ensuring alignment and approval through governance bodies.
- Identify, assess, and manage program risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies and escalating when necessary.
- Drive cross-functional communication, resolve stakeholder conflicts, and ensure alignment across dependent projects and initiatives.
- Define quality standards and performance indicators while ensuring continuous improvement through reporting, evaluation, and lessons learned.
- Mentor and support project and program managers, contributing to capability development and organizational maturity.
- Manage program dependencies and ensure integration of all moving components within governance frameworks.
- Produce and oversee reporting structures across multiple teams to ensure transparency and informed decision-making.
- 10+ years of experience in project or program management within complex, large-scale environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong expertise in project financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Proven experience managing enterprise-level programs with multiple dependencies and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Planview).
- Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring or managing project managers or cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with strong conflict resolution skills.
- Experience with Agile or hybrid delivery methodologies and relevant certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, or CSM) considered an asset.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to evaluate trade-offs and drive strategic outcomes.
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-changing environments while maintaining delivery discipline.
