Position Overview

The C&S Facilities Group is seeking a Structural Project Engineer to join our team in our Tampa office. This is a great opportunity for an individual to help grow our facilities practice. This individual will be responsible for leading projects, performing, and managing technical engineering. The Structural Project Engineer will be responsible for delivery of structural engineering services in a multitude of markets including healthcare, higher education, government, aviation, and industrial projects in the Southeastern United States.


Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required; Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • 10–15 years of progressive structural engineering experience, with a proven record of delivering complex projects from concept through completion, including design of steel, concrete, masonry, and wood structures
  • Demonstrated hands-on production experience, including development of construction documents, calculations, and specifications in a deadline-driven environment
  • Serve as a technical lead for structural engineering efforts, driving design decisions, ensuring code compliance, and establishing best practices across projects
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers, including task delegation, technical oversight, and quality review of deliverables
  • Perform structural engineering calculations, prepare and review specifications, and oversee the development of design drawings
  • Technical expertise in tilt-wall/panel systems, including design, detailing, and coordination with architectural and construction teams is preferred
  • Familiarity with building codes and engineering design requirements, including applied experience designing in compliance with Florida Building Code (FBC) standards
  • Provide technical direction to structural Revit designers in the development of models and construction documents
  • Assist in defining project structural requirements, conducting field surveys, and producing coordinated construction documents
  • Independently manage and drive project deliverables, ensuring quality, timeliness, and alignment with project goals while collaborating cross-functionally
  • Coordinate effectively with civil, architectural, and other engineering disciplines to deliver integrated structural solutions
  • Perform construction phase services, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and conducting field observations
  • Experience with Revit required
  • Prior project experience in healthcare, higher education, government, aviation, and/or industrial sectors preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment
  • Occasional travel required to support project delivery
  • Utilize safe work practices in accordance with federal, state, local, and company standards.
  • Communicate incidents, accidents, near misses, potential hazards, and unsafe working conditions to a supervisor or the Health and Safety Department as soon as identified.
  • Estimated Compensation Range: $100,000-150,000/year*
