This remote opportunity is ideal for an experienced backend engineer who is passionate about building secure, highly available systems that operate at global scale. As a Senior Software Engineer, Identity Core, you will help design and evolve the services that power authentication, authorization, and identity management for millions of users and enterprise organizations. Working alongside cross-functional engineering, product, and design teams, you will develop resilient cloud-native solutions that prioritize security, reliability, and performance. You'll contribute throughout the software development lifecycle while helping shape a seamless identity experience for developers worldwide. This role offers the opportunity to solve complex distributed systems challenges, influence platform architecture, and make a lasting impact on mission-critical infrastructure.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Go (Golang) to support authentication, authorization, identity management, and application integrations.
- Build highly available, geo-redundant services that deliver reliable performance across multiple cloud regions while supporting global-scale operations.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineering teams to deliver secure, user-focused features that balance performance, usability, and scalability.
- Contribute to frontend integrations and administrative workflows using modern web technologies to ensure seamless end-to-end user experiences.
- Participate in on-call rotations, proactively monitoring service health and maintaining high availability and operational excellence.
- Write clean, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code while promoting engineering best practices through collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Continuously improve platform reliability, security, observability, and performance by identifying opportunities for architectural enhancements and operational efficiencies.
- Support the ongoing evolution of identity infrastructure to meet the growing needs of developers, enterprise customers, and cloud-native applications.
- Professional experience in software engineering with a proven track record of building, maintaining, and delivering production-grade software applications.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- Strong proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as Go, Java, Python, C#, C++, JavaScript, Ruby, or Rust, with experience developing backend services.
- Experience designing scalable distributed systems, cloud-native applications, and highly available services.
- Understanding of authentication, authorization, identity management, or access control systems is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with frontend technologies such as React and TypeScript is considered a plus.
- Experience with observability, monitoring, logging, and designing systems for operational excellence.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms, microservices architecture, and modern software development best practices.
- Experience contributing to developer platforms, identity services, Git-based workflows, APIs, or open-source projects is advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration, communication, and software design skills with a commitment to code quality and continuous improvement.
- Competitive base salary ranging from $124,000 to $329,200 USD, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
