As a Refuel Sales Manager, you will lead new business development and accelerate market share growth across the North American petroleum and convenience store channel.
You will identify high-value opportunities, build relationships with strategic decision-makers, and win new national and regional accounts.
The role combines consultative selling, channel development, pipeline management, and strategic account growth in a competitive market.
You will work closely with customers, distributors, manufacturer representatives, contractors, and industry influencers to uncover emerging needs and opportunities.
Your market insights will also help shape product development, positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies.
This is an entrepreneurial, highly customer-facing opportunity for a growth-oriented sales professional motivated by measurable results and long-term revenue expansion.

Accountabilities
  • Drive new business acquisition by proactively identifying, qualifying, pursuing, and closing new customers, accounts, and strategic partnerships within the petroleum and convenience store sector.
  • Target major national and regional petroleum retailers, fuel marketers, distributors, and convenience store chains to expand market penetration and generate new revenue.
  • Build and strengthen strategic relationships with key decision-makers, understand customer needs, develop compelling value propositions, and position solutions effectively.
  • Lead complex, multi-site, and enterprise-level sales opportunities from initial engagement through negotiation and close.
  • Expand market presence across underserved geographies, customer segments, and territories by opening new accounts and developing relationships with manufacturer representatives.
  • Identify, recruit, and onboard new channel partners, including distributors and manufacturer representatives, to accelerate revenue growth in priority markets.
  • Maintain a strong and healthy sales pipeline, prioritizing opportunities that support predictable and increasing quarterly revenue performance.
  • Use CRM and reporting systems to manage leads, track opportunities, forecast orders, and evaluate customer and channel partner performance.
  • Engage directly with end users, contractors, channel influencers, and other industry stakeholders to gather customer feedback, market intelligence, competitive insights, and emerging trends.
  • Translate customer and market insights into actionable recommendations for product, marketing, and commercial teams.
  • Collaborate with product and marketing stakeholders to influence product development, roadmap priorities, positioning, messaging, and campaign strategies.
  • Represent the organization professionally at customer meetings, industry events, and other business development activities.
  • Travel regularly to meet customers, partners, and prospects and support business development activities across the United States.
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in sales growth, business development, or a related commercial role within the lighting, electrical, industrial, or comparable sector.
  • Experience selling into the petroleum, fuel retail, or convenience store market is strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of acquiring new business, developing strategic accounts, and consistently exceeding sales targets in complex, solution-oriented sales environments.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate, influence, and build credibility with stakeholders at every level, from senior executives and boardrooms to field-based teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop compelling value propositions and successfully navigate complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong bias toward action, creative problem-solving, persistence, and the ability to develop innovative solutions to overcome obstacles.
  • Strong relationship-building and consultative selling skills, with the ability to understand customer challenges and translate them into business solutions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong pipeline management, forecasting, CRM, and sales reporting capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize opportunities effectively, and operate successfully in a fast-paced and competitive environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 41–60% as required by the role.
  • Candidates based in Texas are preferred, although the position may be based anywhere in the United States.
Benefits
  • Annual salary range of $120,000 to $180,000, with placement depending on experience and geographic location.
  • Commission and/or incentive compensation opportunities tied to role and performance.
  • Health care coverage.
  • Dental insurance.
  • Vision plans.
  • 401(k) retirement benefits.
  • Opportunity to drive significant new business growth and market expansion within a strategic industry vertical.
  • Highly customer-facing role with exposure to national and regional accounts, strategic partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Opportunity to influence product development, go-to-market strategy, and commercial initiatives through direct market and customer insights.
  • Entrepreneurial environment that rewards initiative, creative problem-solving, and measurable sales performance.
  • Equal opportunity workplace committed to an inclusive and diverse workforce.
