About This Position

Purpose

The purpose of the position is to work with the team to deliver the highest level of service and care coordination to those in need of mental health, substance use disorder and social services.

The Mental Health Coordinator Intern supports the Care Solace Care Companion Team, the Customer Success Team, and Mental Health Staff.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support care coordination process for students, residents, staff members and their respective families, who are members of school institutions and municipality partners across the country
  • Identify and foster relationships with mental health organizations across the country that result in a knowledge-based network of mental health resources for clients
  • Research agency policies, programs, systems, and processes and disperse relevant information
  • Complete internal case reviews and system analyses of service impact and improvement
  • Identify service providers for escalated cases
  • Research and verify mental health providers, including their specialties, insurance acceptance, and availability.
  • Identify trends in provider availability, wait times, and service gaps, escalating key insights to improve provider matching.
  • Collaborate with care coordination teams to match individuals with suitable providers.
  • Collaborate with external departments on special projects as needed
  • Create informational materials as needed
  • Review and report suspected instances of abuse and neglect to Child Welfare Services
  • Develop and facilitate peer support and psychoeducation groups for Care Companion team
  • Insure all documentation is completed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Use data-driven methodologies to track and suggest improvements for case escalation process
  • Other tasks and projects as needed

Requirements

  • Remote - United States
  • Bachelor's degree in a helping profession (psychology, social work, human services, etc.) required; some masters level coursework preferred
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and Canva strongly preferred
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Minimum commitment of 9 months in position
  • Working a minimum of 20 hours per week, preference for 25 hours per week

Working Conditions

Depending on the location of the candidate, remote work is possible if not within driving distance of the San Diego office. Requires working virtually with our remote teams.
