Job Description

Senior Product Designer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Product Designer based in Canada.

This role offers the opportunity to shape the user experience of next-generation financial infrastructure products within a fast-moving technology environment.
You will lead product design initiatives that simplify complex systems and create intuitive experiences for users interacting with advanced digital platforms.
Working closely with engineering, product, leadership, and marketing teams, you will define user journeys, validate solutions, and influence product direction.
The position requires a strong balance of strategic thinking, research skills, and hands-on execution to transform complex concepts into accessible experiences.
You will have significant ownership over the design function, contributing to products that impact emerging financial ecosystems.
This is an ideal opportunity for a product designer who thrives in ambiguity, values craftsmanship, and enjoys building from the ground up.

Accountabilities:

The Senior Product Designer will own and drive product design initiatives, creating user-centered experiences while collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve complex product challenges. Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the product design function by partnering closely with leadership, engineering, product, and marketing teams.
  • Design end-to-end user journeys across the product ecosystem, transforming complex technical concepts into clear, intuitive, and efficient user experiences.
  • Create product experiences that help users understand risks, exposure, returns, commitments, and changing conditions.
  • Conduct user research through interviews, behavioral analysis, and usability insights to identify opportunities and translate findings into actionable product requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to define problems, evaluate tradeoffs, and create solutions within technical and product constraints.
  • Develop thoughtful design strategies that balance usability, functionality, business goals, and technical feasibility.
  • Create detailed product designs, prototypes, and workflows that support effective product development.
  • Advocate for user needs throughout the product lifecycle and contribute to continuous improvement of the overall experience.
  • Establish design practices and contribute to building scalable design processes within a growing organization.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate combines strong product design expertise, technical understanding, and the ability to operate independently in a highly dynamic environment. Required qualifications include:

  • Proven experience as a product designer with a strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design work.
  • Deep understanding of blockchain and decentralized finance concepts, including wallets, approvals, signing, gas, transaction lifecycles, chain latency, and related user constraints.
  • Experience designing and shipping DeFi or blockchain-based products used by real customers.
  • Strong systems-level thinking combined with exceptional attention to visual and interaction details.
  • Experience conducting independent user research and translating insights into product improvements.
  • Ability to work autonomously in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with minimal oversight.
  • Comfortable building design processes, frameworks, and solutions without relying on established teams or systems.
  • Strong collaboration skills with engineering teams and the ability to communicate design decisions effectively.
  • Ability to navigate technical discussions, challenge assumptions, and make informed product decisions.
  • Advanced proficiency with Figma and modern prototyping workflows.
  • Strong understanding of user experience principles, interaction design, and product strategy.
Benefits:
  • Fully remote work opportunity with flexibility across multiple global locations.
  • Opportunity to shape the design direction of innovative financial technology products.
  • High ownership and autonomy within a team of experienced builders.
  • Ability to collaborate with experts from technology, finance, and emerging digital asset ecosystems.
  • Opportunity to influence products at an early and high-growth stage.
  • Supportive environment focused on craftsmanship, initiative, and impactful work.
  • Exposure to complex technical challenges and cutting-edge product development.
