Program Manager, Value Analyst

The Program Manager, Value Analyst plays a key role in improving healthcare operations by identifying opportunities to enhance quality, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
This position combines analytics, project management, vendor collaboration, and clinical supply expertise to drive measurable organizational value.
You will evaluate products, technologies, and services while partnering with clinical, operational, financial, and supply chain stakeholders.
The role focuses on standardization, utilization improvement, cost optimization, and evidence-based decision-making.
You will lead cross-functional initiatives, facilitate value analysis committees, and support strategic sourcing decisions.

Accountabilities:

The Program Manager, Value Analyst is responsible for leading value analysis initiatives, managing complex projects, and providing data-driven recommendations that improve operational performance, patient outcomes, and financial results.

  • Provide analytical recommendations to value analysis committees regarding cost savings, product standardization, quality improvements, and operational efficiencies.
  • Support annual healthcare savings objectives by identifying and implementing opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
  • Partner with sourcing and contracting teams to evaluate purchasing strategies and achieve optimal value.
  • Document and track savings generated through value improvement initiatives.
  • Manage and facilitate value analysis committee meetings, including planning agendas, coordinating communications, and ensuring effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Act as a liaison between supply chain teams, clinical departments, vendors, senior leadership, and purchasing organizations.
  • Monitor market trends, emerging technologies, and industry changes to identify opportunities for innovation and improved value.
  • Evaluate new product requests and technology introductions, ensuring alignment with evidence-based practices, standardization goals, and cost containment strategies.
  • Analyze product alternatives, sourcing options, contracts, and specifications to determine overall value.
  • Lead product conversion initiatives by developing project plans, managing timelines, coordinating resources, and ensuring successful implementation.
  • Apply project management methodologies to track milestones, risks, dependencies, and outcomes.
  • Develop change management and communication plans to support adoption of new initiatives.
  • Define and improve standardized processes across multiple teams and departments.
  • Identify project risks, provide progress updates, and communicate outcomes clearly to stakeholders.
  • Support utilization management initiatives and other strategic improvement projects as needed.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings experience in healthcare supply chain, purchasing, contracting, analytics, or clinical product management, with strong skills in collaboration and project execution.

  • Five or more years of progressive experience in purchasing, contracting, project management, healthcare operations, or medical product selection.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Nursing, healthcare-related discipline, or another relevant field; additional relevant experience may be considered.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare products, medical terminology, clinical workflows, and value-based decision-making.
  • Experience analyzing contracts, costs, financial data, and product specifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence clinical teams, vendors, executives, and operational partners.
  • Proven negotiation skills with the ability to achieve favorable outcomes and maximize value.
  • Experience working with spreadsheets, databases, and analytical tools to support decision-making.
  • Ability to develop data-driven recommendations and communicate insights effectively.
  • Knowledge of healthcare vendor communities, group purchasing organizations, and sourcing strategies preferred.
  • Clinical experience, analytics experience, or prior program/project management experience is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of project management techniques and change management practices.
