This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Account Manager - IT Services based in Canada.
This role manages a portfolio of client accounts with a strong focus on relationship management, retention, and account growth. You will guide members throughout their lifecycle, ensuring they receive high-quality service and realize meaningful value from their memberships. The position combines consultative account management, sales activity, client support, and CRM-driven administration. You will engage with multiple stakeholders, understand their needs, and connect them with relevant resources and solutions. The role also requires strong organization, proactive planning, and ownership of account growth objectives. It is well suited to an experienced account manager who enjoys building lasting client relationships within the IT research and advisory environment.
- Manage an assigned portfolio of client accounts, providing operational, administrative, and call-based support to strengthen relationships, drive renewals, and identify opportunities for account growth.
- Create and execute sales and service activity plans, managing member lifecycle activities from scheduling and preparation through to leading client calls when appropriate.
- Own account management conversations with secondary account stakeholders and maintain strong relationships across the client organization.
- Ensure clients maximize the value of their memberships by delivering responsive, high-quality service that supports retention, renewal, and future sales opportunities.
- Manage and respond effectively to inbound client requests, identifying needs and coordinating appropriate support or resources.
- Prepare for client interactions by researching and consolidating relevant background information on individuals, organizations, account history, and existing relationships.
- Conduct scheduled and ad hoc CRM data queries to support account management activities and business planning.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date account, contact, and relationship information within the CRM.
- Continuously develop product and service knowledge to communicate the value proposition clearly and confidently to clients.
- Set and monitor account growth and activity goals, proactively managing progress and seeking support when performance is off track.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams to understand client requirements and connect members with the appropriate analysts, resources, or solutions.
- University degree or equivalent higher education qualification.
- At least 3 years of account management experience with a demonstrated track record of success.
- Experience in the IT research and advisory market is required.
- Previous experience working collaboratively within a team environment is considered an asset.
- Strong critical-thinking skills, with the ability to assimilate complex information and communicate it clearly and concisely to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of client needs and the ability to articulate a value proposition in a simple, relevant, and compelling way.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills, including the ability to structure daily schedules, manage account activity, and create plans for account growth.
- Strong time-management skills and the ability to prioritize competing tasks throughout the member lifecycle.
- Demonstrated goal-setting and performance-management abilities, including taking ownership of objectives, monitoring progress, and communicating proactively when additional support is needed.
- Excellent active listening skills, with the ability to ask insightful questions, identify client needs, and accurately reflect those needs back to stakeholders.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with a client-focused and consultative approach.
- Ability and willingness to continuously develop knowledge of products, services, and the IT research and advisory landscape.
