Associate Director, Information Systems

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Associate Director, Information Systems based in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to lead the technology strategy and delivery of critical enterprise products supporting commercial operations and business transformation.
The position serves as a bridge between business strategy, product vision, engineering execution, and innovative technology solutions.
You will guide cross-functional Agile teams in building scalable platforms that improve decision-making, operational efficiency, and business outcomes.
The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on collaboration across product, data, engineering, architecture, and business stakeholders.
You will help drive digital transformation initiatives by leveraging cloud technologies, analytics, artificial intelligence, and modern data capabilities.

Accountabilities:

The Associate Director, Information Systems will lead the strategy, execution, and evolution of a portfolio of technology products while ensuring alignment with business goals, operational excellence, and measurable value creation.

  • Serve as the technology leader for Agile teams supporting commercial technology products, ensuring delivery aligns with business priorities, product vision, and organizational objectives.
  • Define and execute product roadmaps, investment priorities, release plans, and strategic capabilities that translate business needs into scalable technology solutions.
  • Build strong partnerships with business leaders, engineering teams, architects, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver sustainable and secure solutions.
  • Lead Agile delivery processes, including planning sessions, backlog refinement, sprint execution, release coordination, and dependency management.
  • Establish and monitor performance metrics, OKRs, adoption indicators, and delivery outcomes to continuously improve product effectiveness.
  • Drive AI, analytics, and advanced technology initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve processes, decision-making, and business performance.
  • Oversee platform operations, including production support, incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous operational improvements.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver cloud-based data and AI solutions aligned with architecture, security, governance, and compliance standards.
  • Lead, coach, and develop multidisciplinary teams while fostering collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and guide strategic decisions around data platforms, machine learning, automation, and digital transformation.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced technology and product leader with a strong background in enterprise systems, digital platforms, and cross-functional leadership.

  • Doctorate degree with 3+ years of Information Systems experience, or equivalent combinations of education and professional experience, including significant leadership experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of Information Systems experience or comparable experience in technology leadership roles.
  • Minimum of 3 years of direct people management experience and/or demonstrated leadership of teams, programs, projects, or resource allocation.
  • Experience leading enterprise technology products, platforms, analytics solutions, business intelligence capabilities, pricing solutions, or AI-enabled products.
  • Strong understanding of modern data and analytics platforms, including technologies such as Databricks, Python, SQL, Apache Spark, and scalable data pipelines.
  • Experience delivering cloud-based solutions using platforms such as AWS, including data engineering, machine learning workloads, security, and operational monitoring.
  • Knowledge of artificial intelligence technologies, including Generative AI, large language models, AI agents, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, and responsible AI practices.
  • Proven ability to manage full product lifecycles, from strategy and roadmap development through delivery, adoption, operations, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams including product managers, engineers, data specialists, architects, analysts, and quality professionals.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, data governance, cybersecurity, privacy, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in Agile environments, including SAFe methodologies and continuous improvement practices.
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
