The Manager, Healthcare Technology Applications will provide strategic and operational leadership for clinical technology platforms, ensuring applications are reliable, scalable, secure, and aligned with organizational goals. This role will lead a team of healthcare technology professionals while partnering with clinical and technical stakeholders to continuously improve workflows and technology adoption.
- Oversee the management, configuration, optimization, and support of healthcare applications, including practice management systems, diagnostic integrations, imaging platforms, laboratory systems, scheduling tools, pharmacy systems, and emerging digital technologies.
- Establish application governance processes, lifecycle management strategies, release planning, and change-control practices.
- Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap for clinical applications aligned with business and healthcare priorities.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of healthcare technology analysts, establishing performance goals, service standards, and professional growth opportunities.
- Optimize clinical workflows by improving documentation processes, charge capture, diagnostic workflows, care coordination, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure application availability, performance, security, and compliance while managing escalations and complex technical issues.
- Partner with infrastructure, cybersecurity, data, and integration teams to support secure and interoperable technology environments.
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, upgrades, service expectations, and issue resolution.
- Oversee integrations between clinical systems, analytics platforms, laboratories, imaging solutions, and other healthcare technologies.
- Support data quality initiatives, automation efforts, API-driven workflows, and AI-enabled technology solutions.
- Manage application projects, upgrades, implementations, pilots, and cross-functional technology initiatives.
- Develop change-management strategies, training programs, and adoption plans to ensure successful deployment of new capabilities.
- Build strong relationships with healthcare teams to understand user needs, improve satisfaction, and drive continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate is an experienced healthcare technology leader with strong application management expertise, team leadership capabilities, and a deep understanding of clinical workflows and digital healthcare solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, computer science, information systems, business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience supporting clinical applications, EMR/PIMS systems, or healthcare technology platforms.
- 2+ years of leadership or team management experience.
- Strong understanding of healthcare workflows, clinical operations, and application optimization practices.
- Experience managing application projects, system implementations, upgrades, and process improvements.
- Technical knowledge of SQL, integrations, data structures, automation tools, or related technologies.
- Strong communication, leadership, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into practical solutions for clinical and business teams.
- Experience with healthcare information systems such as PIMS or EHR platforms is preferred.
- Experience working in specialty healthcare, emergency care, veterinary healthcare, or comparable complex clinical environments is a plus.
- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or PDSA is preferred.
- Strong vendor management and partnership experience.
- Competitive base salary range of $100,000–$135,000 USD, depending on experience, skills, location, and internal equity.
