Job Description
At Hema-Tec, Inc., we believe that great healthcare starts with great leadership. We are a family-owned, mission-driven team built on a simple promise: we take exceptional care of our people so they can take exceptional care of our patients.
Our mission is to empower our clinical staff to change the lives of dialysis patients, one treatment at a time. As an Area Program Manager, you are the heartbeat of that mission in the field. You'll lead our frontline hospital programs—supporting our nurses and tech teams, taking care of our hospital partners, and making sure our daily operations run smoothly and safely. If you’re a supportive, down-to-earth leader who loves solving problems and helping teams thrive, we’d love to talk to you.
Location: Milwaukee Central and Appleton
Compensation: Competitive DOE
Shift: Monday - Friday, Full-Time Leadership (Day shift field leadership with managed emergency escalation)
Reports To: Regional Operations Manager
Our Commitment to YouWe show up for our leadership team just like we expect you to show up for your staff. Here is what we bring to the table:
- Financial Security: Competitive salary, performance bonus opportunities, and a company-matching 401(k).
- Health & Peace of Mind: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance options.
- Time to Recharge: Generous paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays.
- Real Support, No "Sink or Swim": You’ll have hands-on backing from your Regional Manager, our Operations team, and Clinical Leadership every step of the way. We give you the coaching and tools you need to succeed.
- Growth & Recognition: Clear paths for career advancement and regular recognition when your team wins.
- A Culture That Cares: A welcoming, high-trust workplace where you're treated as a valued team member, not a number.
This isn't a traditional supervisor job where you're stuck running treatments all day while trying to manage a team on the side. This is a dedicated leadership role.
Your main job is to be present in the field—coaching your team, building strong relationships with hospital leaders, and making sure our shifts run on time and by the book. While you might step in to help during a rare emergency, you are not part of the regular treatment rotation. Your focus is on building a stable, well-supported program that runs like clockwork every day.
The Three Skills You'll Use Every DayInstead of sitting in an office pushing paperwork, you’ll be out in the field putting three core strengths to work:
1. Supporting & Empowering Your Team- What it looks like: You are the main leader your nurses and techs rely on every day. You’ll be in the field mentoring your staff, creating fair schedules that protect people from burnout, and making sure everyone feels confident and supported in busy hospital environments.
- The Value Connection: We put “Team Member over Employee.” By being present and approachable, you build a workplace where people feel safe, respected, and backed up.
- What it looks like: You are the face of Hema-Tec to our hospital partners. You’ll talk regularly with hospital nursing directors, ICU managers, and doctors to keep communication open, ensure we’re meeting response times, and handle any operational questions before they turn into issues.
- The Value Connection: Reputation means everything. By being reliable, honest, and easy to work with, you make Hema-Tec the partner hospitals trust most.
- What it looks like: Hospital work moves fast, and hiccups happen. You’ll keep an eye on day-to-day details—making sure chart documentation is clean and complete, equipment is ready to go, and safety standards are met. When scheduling snags or unexpected changes pop up, you step in with a practical plan to fix them.
- The Value Impact: You tackle every problem with a solution and bring a can-do attitude to work every shift. You keep things running smoothly so our patients get the care they need without delay.
- Healthcare or Operations Background: An active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Leadership Experience: At least 2+ years leading a team in a healthcare setting (such as a charge nurse, supervisor, or program coordinator) where you managed schedules and worked directly with clients or hospital staff. PREFERRED
- Acute Care Familiarity: Comfort working in or around fast-paced hospital environments like ICUs, emergency departments, or acute dialysis units.
- Good Organizational Skills: Ability to look at schedules, track basic metrics, keep paperwork compliant, and manage your time effectively in the field.
- Mobility: A valid driver's license and the ability to travel between hospital sites in your assigned local area.
1. Submit Your Application: Takes less than 10 minutes.
Apply with your resume highlighting your leadership experience, acute clinical exposure, and track record of managing operational logistics.
2. Connect for Accommodations: Optional.
If you require assistance or a reasonable accommodation during the application or interview process under the ADA, reach out to us at 586-231-1423.
