Job Description

About the Ministerial Association of Colusa County (MACC)

MACC exists to glorify God and share the good news of Jesus Christ through support, cooperation, and charitable works among associated members and participants. As a faith-based, community benefit organization, we serve through our charitable departments, including Benevolence, PneumaCare Health, and the North Valley Community Food Bank. The Benevolence department supports pastors and churches through spiritual, practical, and material assistance, reflecting our commitment to build up the Body of Christ and love our neighbors in need.

The Ministerial Engagement Manager supports the mission of MACC by managing the day-to-day operations of the Benevolence Team and delivering benefits and services to affiliated ministers, churches, and ministry workers. This position plays a critical role in building personal relationships with pastors and ministry leaders, coordinating benevolence programs, and administering pastoral support services. Working under the direction of the Director of Pastoral Engagement, this role serves as the operational lead for ministerial support and outreach efforts.

Key Responsibilities

Ministerial Support and Engagement

  • Manage direct outreach and service delivery to affiliated pastors, ministers, and churches.
  • Build relationships with ministry leaders through regular check-ins, pastoral care visits, prayer support, and encouragement.
  • Coordinate responses to ministerial crises, such as personal emergencies, ministry burnout, or church closures, under the direction of the Director.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of minister interactions and support provided.
  • Engage ministers through monthly MACC meetings in associated counties, and support local ministerial association leaders in their agenda and meeting development.
  • Provide outreach to churches on various benefits available to associated ministers and assist MACC leadership by enrolling new ministers into membership.
  • Serve as a liaison between local MACC chapters and our community support programs, by working alongside the community engagement team to encourage the use of MACC wraparound services

Benevolence Program Management

  • Coordinate administration of the Benevolence Fund and other ministerial assistance programs.
  • Conduct initial assessments of requests for assistance and prepare recommendations for approval by the Director.
  • Advise member ministers on how to operate Benevolence, and process approved requests from member ministers.
  • Manage documentation and compliance for all benevolence activities in line with MACC’s internal policies and spiritual mission.
  • Maintain program records and reporting systems.

Pastoral Care Services

  • Organize and administer support services for member ministers such as sabbatical care coordination, peer support groups, ministerial retreats, minister conferences, or counseling referrals.
  • Promote and manage access to ministerial benefit offerings (e.g., care packages, emergency assistance, resource kits, continuing education opportunities).

Church Engagement and Ministry Collaboration

  • Act as the primary point of contact for affiliated churches requesting pastoral support or MACC involvement.
  • Coordinate collaboration opportunities with other churches or ministries to enhance mutual aid and cooperation.
  • Attend and represent MACC at faith-based events, denominational gatherings, or church-hosted functions across MACC’s service area.

Administration and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate data on ministerial affiliation, support requests, follow-up activities, and resource allocations.
  • Prepare reports and summaries for the Director of Pastoral Engagement on ministry engagement activities, program usage, and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with MACC staff across departments when ministers are referred to or engaged in other MACC services (e.g., food support, housing, health servi

Required Qualifications

  • Be a commissioned, licensed or ordained minister with a Christian denomination or nondenominational Christian church or the spouse of a qualified minister. A demonstrated Christian faith and alignment with MACC’s Statement of Common Understanding.
  • Experience in pastoral ministry, church leadership, or chaplaincy (3+ years preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal, relational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to provide compassionate care to ministers facing emotional, financial, or spiritual challenges.
  • Organized, administratively competent, and able to manage multiple service programs.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel throughout MACC’s service area.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in theology, ministry, Christian leadership, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Familiarity with rural or small-church ministry settings.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to travel for in-person minister visits, church events, or outreach (vehicle provided when needed).
  • Occasional lifting of program materials or supplies (up to 25 lbs).
  • Flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends when needed for ministry events or pastoral emergencies.

Faith Commitment

As this position is considered a ministry role within a religious organization, applicants must agree with and uphold MACC’s Statement of Common Understanding and demonstrate a personal commitment to serving in a Christ-centered environment and maintaining a lifestyle in alignment with biblical values.
