Shipping & Receiving Clerk in Machesney Park, Illinois at QUANTUM DESIGN INC

We’re looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our team. This hands-on role is key to keeping our operations running smoothly, handling incoming and outgoing materials, maintaining accurate records, and supporting production needs.

Responsibilities

• Receive and unload freight both manually and with the use of equipment like a fork lift, pallet jack or overhead crane
• Inspect incoming freight for damages
• Verify incoming freight against PO’s for part numbers and quantities
• Distribute/route material to appropriate locations; stock, staging, job site, supplies
• Prepare shipments for transporting to ensure safe delivery
• Create packing lists and bills of lading
• Schedule shipments using the most cost effective and efficient shipping method or as directed by the customer
• Pick up and deliver material from/to customers and vendors
• Participate in physical inventory
• Maintain inventory records
• Follow all procedures and work instructions with in our IMS system related to this job description
• Read blue prints and verify correct dimensions to the physical parts

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

• Blueprint reading
• Inspection of manufactured parts with the use of Calipers, tape measure to insure Quality
• Basic mathematical skills
• Knowledge of light equipment operation
• Fork lift operation experience
• Excellent driving record; must have driver’s license and insurance and able to provide proof
• Organizational and record keeping skills

Experience in the following programs/processes is required

• Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
• Adobe Reader and/or Acrobat

Experience in the following programs/processes is not required, but a plus

• Epicor or any ERP/MRP system
