VP, Marketing (P&C Insurance)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a VP, Marketing (P&C Insurance) based in United States.

This executive-level role will shape the marketing strategy and brand presence of a technology-driven property and casualty insurance organization.
You’ll lead how the business communicates its value to agents, brokers, policyholders, carrier partners, and the broader insurance marketplace.
The role combines brand strategy, distribution marketing, digital growth, market intelligence, and product storytelling.
You’ll work closely with sales, underwriting, and executive leadership to strengthen distribution and support expansion into new markets.
This is a hands-on leadership position suited to a builder who can create structure, move quickly, and execute in competitive and evolving insurance markets.
You’ll lead a small marketing team, manage external partners and budgets, and use data to connect marketing activity to measurable business outcomes.
The position is fully remote within the United States, with some travel required for meetings, training, conferences, and day-to-day collaboration.

Accountabilities:

Brand Strategy & Positioning

  • Define and champion the brand identity across relevant markets, ensuring consistent and compelling positioning for agents, carriers, brokers, and policyholders.
  • Develop messaging frameworks that clearly communicate expertise in CAT-exposed coastal and California markets.
  • Differentiate the brand in competitive insurance environments where trust, capacity, responsiveness, and expertise are critical.

Distribution & Channel Marketing

  • Design and execute agent and broker recruitment campaigns to expand the distribution network across existing and future markets.
  • Develop targeted outreach strategies for coastal property specialists, surplus lines producers, and independent agents operating in admitted and non-admitted markets.
  • Create co-marketing programs, sales collateral, and resources that enable distribution partners to effectively communicate the product offering.

Digital Presence & Content

  • Oversee digital marketing channels including the website, email, SEO/SEM, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms relevant to insurance distribution.
  • Develop thought leadership content, market updates, CAT event communications, producer resources, and other materials that strengthen credibility and engagement.
  • Use analytics to measure campaign performance, optimize marketing spend, and improve results across traditional and digital channels.

Market Intelligence & Product Storytelling

  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, competitive activity, and market dynamics across active states, with particular attention to Florida, Texas, Louisiana, and California.
  • Translate complex underwriting and product information into clear, persuasive narratives for producers and prospective partners.
  • Provide executive leadership with market intelligence to inform go-to-market strategies and decisions around expansion into new states.

Events & Conference Strategy

  • Identify and maximize participation in key industry events, including NAPSLO, Big "I", state surplus lines associations, and CAT conferences.
  • Develop trade show strategies, engagement plans, and post-event follow-up programs designed to turn relationships into distribution opportunities.
  • Track event performance and ROI to continuously improve conference and event investments.

Team & Budget Leadership

  • Lead a small marketing team with varying levels of experience while providing direction, development, and support.
  • Manage agencies, vendors, and external partners as needed.
  • Operate efficiently within budget constraints while applying creativity and resourcefulness to execution.
  • Build scalable marketing processes and continuously improve the function as the organization grows.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of progressive marketing experience, including at least 3–5 years within property and casualty insurance.
  • Strong understanding of the P&C insurance market, particularly CAT-exposed territories involving coastal wind, flood, and wildfire risks.
  • Demonstrated experience across both B2B marketing for agents, brokers, and wholesale distribution channels and B2C or policyholder-facing communications.
  • Experience managing CRM platforms such as Salesforce or HubSpot, marketing automation tools, analytics dashboards, and modern MarTech environments.
  • Proven ability to develop marketing strategies that contribute to revenue growth, pipeline generation, and measurable business outcomes, including GWP.
  • Experience leading high-impact, data-driven initiatives with clearly defined performance metrics and ROI.
  • Previous experience leading a small marketing team with varying levels of experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write, present, influence, and adapt messaging for different audiences.
  • Builder’s mindset with a track record of launching initiatives, solving problems independently, and creating structure in fast-moving environments.
  • Strong design sensibility and aesthetic judgment, with the ability to elevate brand presentation and push creative boundaries.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with modern MarTech stacks, including CRM, CMS, analytics, and creative tools.
  • Comfortable using collaboration platforms such as Slack and Microsoft Teams, including video conferencing and screen sharing.
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection and a designated quiet workspace suitable for remote work.
  • Ability to travel periodically for business meetings, team events, training, and industry conferences.

Benefits:

  • 20 days of PTO annually, prorated based on hire date.
  • Company-paid holidays.
  • 2 additional “Choose Your Own Holidays.”
  • Additional compensation may include bonuses or other incentives at the company’s discretion.
  • 100% remote work opportunity within the United States, limited to eligible states.
