At Merrimack Health, we are committed to pay transparency and equity. The base salary range is $28.86 to $43.28 hourly, excluding fringe benefits and potential bonuses.
Your final base salary will be determined based on your education, experience, licensure, and internal equity considerations. Offers are typically made below the top of the range to support future salary growth.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Payroll/AP Specialist serves a major role in supporting both the Payroll and AP functions. The split would be 80/20 with the larger portion of coverage for payroll.
Payroll duties include serving as a fully trained backup for weekly and out-of-cycle payroll processing. This position would be responsible for weekly processing on an ongoing basis.
AP duties include keying invoices, as well as performing various administrative and reconciliation tasks.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform all activities necessary to process multiple weekly payrolls on a timely basis to ensure employees are paid correctly.
- Print checks for all applicable employees.
- Enter invoices for Accounts Payable
- Serve as backup for other various AP duties on occasion
- Other occasional administrative duties and special projects assigned by the AP Supervisor, Payroll Manager, and/or Assistant Controller.
EDUCATION AND RELATED EXPERIENCE:
Required:

- Associates degree in Accounting or Business and/or 1-2+ years of accounts payable or payroll experience.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid environment (1-2 days on site per week)
- Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-spaced environment that requires strong typing skills/speed
- Comfortable communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience working for an organization that utilizes purchase orders
Experience working in a healthcare organization
