This role offers an opportunity to act as a trusted HR advisor across a diverse portfolio of mining clients operating in Western Canada. You will support organizations in strengthening their people practices, improving compliance, and enhancing employee experience in complex operational environments. The position blends strategic advisory work with hands-on HR execution, covering both remote collaboration and on-site client engagement when required. You will contribute to the design and implementation of HR frameworks such as policies, compensation structures, performance systems, and workforce planning initiatives. Working closely with leadership teams, you will help resolve sensitive employee relations matters while ensuring alignment with employment legislation and industry best practices. This is a highly impactful consulting role for an experienced HR professional who thrives in dynamic, client-facing environments.
In this role, you will lead and deliver end-to-end HR consulting engagements across multiple mining sector clients, ensuring high-quality outcomes aligned with business and compliance requirements. You will act as a strategic advisor and hands-on practitioner supporting a wide range of HR initiatives.
- Lead HR consulting projects covering policy development, recruitment, compensation, performance management, training, and organizational design.
- Advise clients on employment legislation, HR compliance, and best practices tailored to mining and operational environments.
- Manage complex employee relations cases including accommodations, absenteeism, disputes, performance issues, and terminations.
- Develop clear, accurate HR documentation including policies, job descriptions, and client deliverables.
- Support clients in building sustainable HR frameworks aligned with their organizational culture and operational realities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent service delivery, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to process enhancements and participate in internal capability-building initiatives.
You are an experienced HR professional with extensive consulting exposure and strong expertise in managing complex HR challenges, ideally within industrial or mining environments. You bring both strategic thinking and operational depth, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple client priorities.
- 15+ years of progressive HR experience in consulting or client-facing advisory roles.
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field; HR certification considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian employment legislation, HR policies, and compliance frameworks.
- Proven experience in employee relations, including conflict resolution and sensitive case management.
- Background in HR functions such as recruitment, compensation, performance management, and training.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders.
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with HR systems such as ATS and HRIS.
- Ability to work both remotely and on-site across client locations as required.
