This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a HR and Organizational Development Lead in Canada.
This role plays a pivotal part in shaping people strategy, workplace culture, and organizational effectiveness within a mission-driven mental health and veteran-focused environment.
You will oversee the full spectrum of HR activities, including recruitment, employee engagement, learning and development, performance management, and organizational health initiatives.
The position is highly strategic and hands-on, combining operational HR leadership with culture-building and workforce development responsibilities.
You will act as a trusted advisor to leaders, supporting them in coaching, conflict resolution, and performance management while ensuring a psychologically safe workplace.
A strong focus is placed on inclusion, equity, employee well-being, and continuous improvement of HR practices.
The role operates in a collaborative, evolving environment where adaptability, empathy, and strong leadership are essential.
- Lead and execute end-to-end HR strategies, including recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning, and talent acquisition initiatives designed to attract and retain high-quality talent.
- Design and implement employee engagement and workplace culture programs, including organization-wide events and wellness initiatives that promote inclusion and psychological safety.
- Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures in alignment with Canadian legislation and organizational best practices.
- Support and coach people leaders on performance management, employee development, conflict resolution, and employee relations matters, including complex HR cases when needed.
- Oversee compensation processes, salary reviews, and benefits coordination while contributing to HR budgeting and planning activities.
- Lead occupational health and safety processes, workplace accommodations, and support incident and hazard investigations.
- Drive learning and development initiatives, including training programs, career development planning, and professional coaching for staff.
- Champion equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility (EDIA) principles across HR practices and organizational initiatives.
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience with strong exposure to organizational development, employee relations, and HR operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of Canadian employment legislation and HR best practices.
- Experience in recruitment, employee engagement, learning and development, and performance management within a complex or mission-driven environment.
- Experience in nonprofit, public sector, healthcare, or similar settings is considered a strong asset.
- Excellent interpersonal and emotional intelligence skills, with the ability to manage sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy.
- Strong facilitation, coaching, and leadership abilities with confidence working with senior stakeholders.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Bilingualism (English/French), CHRP certification, and lived experience or connection to veteran communities are considered strong assets.
- Competitive annual salary of approximately CAD $90,500, with flexibility based on experience.
