Role
A full-time position responsible for the organizational excellence and volunteer vitality of the parish’s liturgical life. This role serves as the chief recruiter and architect of the “Sunday Experience.” This individual ensures that every liturgy, from Weekend Masses to funerals and weddings, is staffed with high-quality musicians and well-trained volunteers. This position owns the systems that move parishioners from “pew-sitters” to active liturgical ministers, ensuring the liturgy runs with purposeful excellence.
QualificationsThe Coordinator of Worship & Liturgy must excel at shaping welcoming, reverent, and engaging environments with exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills. The candidate must possess a high aptitude for volunteer recruitment, scheduling, and team building. While musical proficiency is an asset, it is secondary to the ability to identify, audition, and manage a team of professional and volunteer talent. The candidate must be a practicing Catholic in good standing.
ResponsibilitiesMusician Recruitment & Management (15 hours/week)
- Proactivity recruit, audition, and manage a diverse roster of vocalists and instrumentalists for all weekend liturgies, funerals, and weddings.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external professional musicians, ensuring all contracts and liturgical expectations are met with excellence.
- Curate and prepare all musical resources (sheet music, licenses, and worship aids) for the scheduled musicians, ensuring alignment with the liturgical season and parish vision.
- Regularly evaluate the “Sunday Experience” to ensure musical offerings are hospitable, reverent, and of a high professional standard.
Liturgical Volunteer Leadership (15 hours/week)
- Actively recruit and onboard all liturgical volunteers, including Lectors, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Altar Servers, and Ushers.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the Diocese regarding Liturgical Minister formation. This includes coordinating the advertising, registration, and promotion of Diocesan-led training sessions to ensure STM ministers are certified and updated according to Diocesan standards.
- Design and lead workshops to train volunteers in the hospitality required for their specific roles.
- Maintain a centralized, proactive scheduling system to ensure 100% coverage for all Masses, eliminating last-minute scrambles or volunteer burnout.
- Work directly with the Office Manager to ensure every volunteer is VIRTUS/Safe Environment complaint.
Inventory Management & Procurement (5 hours/week)
- Maintain an accurate, digital inventory of all liturgical supplies, including altar wine, hosts, candles, incense, and charcoal.
- Manage the ordering and stocking of all vestments, linens, and liturgical books, ensuring the sacristy is always prepared for the upcoming season with purposeful excellence.
- Track expenditures for liturgical supplies, working within the annual budget to ensure resources are used effectively.
Strategic Coordination & Environment (5 hours/week)
- Meet weekly with the Director of Mission to ensure the liturgy supports all initiatives and school-to-parish integration.
- Oversee the seasonal decoration of the sanctuary (Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter) to ensure the physical space reflects the beauty and order of the Church’s prayer.
- Provide high-level coordination for funerals and weddings are flawlessly organized and staffed in conjunction with the Coordinator of Funerals & Coordinator of Weddings.

- Compensation: Salaried. Competitive based on experience.
