Job Description
JOB PURPOSE
The Institutional Relations division exists to recruit and retain students, donors, and friends. The Director of Seminary Recruitment contributes to this mission by leading the institution’s efforts to recruit and retain residential graduate students in the FTC Cohorts program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Recruiting
- Travel to events, churches, and schools with high concentrations of potential residential graduate students to recruit via speaking opportunities, booths, smaller group gatherings, and one-on-one meetings
- Maintain strategic relationships with key influencers of potential residential graduate students such as pastors, school staff, and college ministry leaders
- Host groups of prospective residential graduate students on campus for tours and events
Admissions and Enrollment
- Move prospective residential graduate students through the admissions funnel
- Coordinate ways to maximize the admissions process for prospective residential graduate students via promotions and other strategies with the Director of Admissions
- Travel to major admissions recruiting events such as the Southern Baptist Convention, the TGC Conference, the Salt Conference, and CROSS Conference
- Recruit students to and at major on-campus admissions events such as Preview Day and the For the Church Conference
FTC Cohorts
- Oversee the process in which admitted residential graduate students join the FTC Cohorts program and are placed in their respective cohorts
- Coordinate with the Church Partnerships team and the faculty to ensure an excellent first-year experience for FTC Cohorts students
Divisional Support
- Serve on the Institutional Relations leadership team
- Strive to challenge the status quo, project the brand of MBTS, and nurture the enrollment funnel of the institution
- Actively support all initiatives of the Enrollment Management team and Institutional Relations division
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
Include, but not limited to:
- Christian with high integrity, actively pursuing a relationship with God
- Theological master’s degree required
- 5 years of experience in church or parachurch ministry preferred
- Sales, public speaking, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational management skills required
- Goal oriented and able to thrive in an environment focused on quantitative metrics
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Positive attitude with a desire and willingness to learn
- Able to multi-task, analyze workload, and prioritize as necessary for the benefit of the department
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be able to pass background screening, including driving record
- Eligible to work in the United States

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm when in office OR a non-conforming schedule when traveling
- Conditions are those of a typical office environment
- Oral and digital communication with students and colleagues will frequently be required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Frequently required to sit or stand for periods of time at desk or computer station
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
- Able lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
