About This Position
Per Diem Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) – Pulmonary and Critical Care, Waterbury, CT
The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) will practice under the supervision of the Pulmonary and Critical Care attending physician, following written protocols outlined in the Medical Staff Privileges for Advanced Practice Registered Nurses in Medicine. The APRN will be responsible for performing and documenting histories and physical examinations, progress notes, and consultation notes.
Key responsibilities include providing medical cross-coverage for ICU patients, participating in the Rapid Response Team and Code III team under the direction of the Pulmonary and Critical Care attending physician, and providing consultation to the Emergency Department and inpatient services as directed.
Requirements:
- Current APRN license (or eligibility) in the State of Connecticut with prescriptive authority
- State DCP number for controlled substances and Federal DEA number
- Minimum of one year ICU experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certification
