Yale New Haven Health Urgent Care is seeking experienced Advanced Practice Providers to join our growing Per Diem team across Connecticut and New York. Schedule & Flexibility

We understand that many of our per diem providers maintain primary clinical positions elsewhere. Our scheduling model is intentionally designed to provide flexibility while ensuring consistency for our patients and care teams.

Providers commit to one of the following:

  • Minimum of three shifts per month, including at least one weekend shift

OR

  • Weekend-only providers commit to a minimum of two full eight-hour weekend shifts per month

Schedules are developed and published approximately 60 days in advance, allowing providers ample time to coordinate their clinical commitments and personal schedules.

Additional shifts, including weekday, evening, and weekend opportunities, may be available.

What You'll Do
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages
  • Develop evidence-based treatment plans
  • Perform common urgent care procedures, including:
    • Laceration repair
    • Incision and drainage
    • Splinting
    • Wound care
    • Foreign body removal
    • Other office-based urgent care procedures
  • Order and interpret diagnostic testing
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, radiology teams, and clinical support staff
  • Deliver a patient-centered experience focused on quality, safety, and service excellence
Who We're Looking For

We are seeking experienced clinicians who thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy the autonomy, variety, and clinical decision-making that urgent care provides.

  • Confident treating patients across the lifespan
  • Comfortable managing a broad range of acute illnesses and injuries
  • Skilled in performing common urgent care procedures
  • Strong communicators and team players
  • Dedicated to delivering exceptional patient experiences
  • Committed to high-quality, evidence-based care
Qualifications
  • Current State Medical License
  • DEA Registration
  • Controlled Substance Registration, as applicable
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
  • Current national certification
  • Current ACLS and PALS certification
  • Minimum one year of Urgent Care, Emergency Medicine, or comparable acute care experience preferred
  • Demonstrated experience performing common urgent care procedures, including laceration repair, incision and drainage, splinting, wound care, and foreign body removal
